there are 2 button batteries that act as MEMORY SIMPLY ... they are provided.

Please don't yell something like "OH THAT'S POLLUTING" because the PM does NOT need them to walk. They simply remember when you unplug it from the outlet.

Well ... better to prevent ...

The case has already happened several times it seems to me ... and therefore I am taking the "lead" ... Even if it's not very diplomatic ... with the Internet you never know who you are "in front". ..

Hi everybody ,

i got my pm230 this morning

here are some measurements

- Speedtouch 536 usb / ethernet modem (ethernet plugged in there)
cons: 11.55W, variation up to 11.65W
transformer disconnected from the modem, I have 9.36W

- LCD screen samsung 17inches, 730BF:
off 6.96W
lit 27.60W, variation up to 30W
in standby 6.96W

computer, asus mainboard A8N-E, Athlon64 3200 + processor, geforce 7800GT graphics card, sound blaster live sound card, LG GSA-H22N CD-DVD burner, intellimouse optical microsoft mouse, microsoft office keyboard, xNUMXGo maxtor 7200t / s hard drive, 80 case fan 4cm antec (with speed controller 8 positions), ZALMAN CNPS3 LED processor fan, Zalman VF9500-Cu LED graphics card fan, and passive radiator on the chipset of the motherboard, additional ethernet board DFE-900TX, alim seasonic 528W

shut down 14 W
WINDOWS XP:
on, use 0% processor,
any fan speed mini, 85W variation up to 88W,
any 98W high speed fan

use 100% processor, 124W

measure taken during a game (need for speed most wanted), 136W

graphics card in burn, ie by making calculations on the graphics card, 150W

Linux Mandriva free 2007
lit 95W
all the fans at the bottom, 105W

remarks:
the consumption of the LCD screen does not seem to vary according to the color, which is not the case of a CRT screen
what is the point of turning off the screen since even off it consumes, no matter what ..., as much as unplugging it

the fan of the computer in addition to being silent allow a reduction of the consumption, it surprises

under linux, the same computer consumes more, which is particularly zero

Nice your little tests :)
Everyone should do the same!

I noticed exactly the same thing!
Linux eats more resources than Windows but I think that it does not come from linux itself but from the GNU (graphical interface) which is in fact a "plugin" of linux ... while windows is in the Core ( if I say bullshit correct me computer scientists) ...

phillips radio, cassette and CD player, AZ8320

off 0W
switched on 6.93W radio
6.93W cassette playback
9.24W CD playback

Christophe, no real idea of what can influence linux so that it consumes more, however the athlon 60 under windows, lowers its power consumption as soon as it is idle, I do not know if under linux it works
