EMR: Wave energy devices

Innovations, ideas or patents for sustainable development. Decrease in energy consumption, reduction of pollution, improvement of yields or processes ... Myths or reality about inventions of the past or the future: the inventions of Tesla, Newman, Perendev, Galey, Bearden, cold fusion ...

The first commercial wave power plant in Europe will soon be installed in Brittany
It is at the tip of Brittany, in Audierne Bay, that the first commercial power station in Europe designed to harness wave energy will undoubtedly come into service. The Irish company Seabased is firstly planning the installation of a 2 MW pilot project there before reaching 2 MW in a second phase and injecting the electricity produced into the network.

The construction of a wave power park developed by Seabased is particularly easy since all its elements are manufactured on the continent and then transported to the operating site by a ship, where a lifting device simply places each buoy-converter duo, ballasted by a concrete slab, on the sea floor. The same goes for the submarine substation. The electric cables are then connected by plungers. No civil engineering, excavation or anchoring work is therefore necessary. https://www.revolution-energetique.com/ ... -bretagne/

And we are not done making that at home, noooo, we have to go look in Ireland! We specialize in EPRs that don't work ... Poor France. : roll: :(

HS
France would be less "poor" if morons who take advantage of it did not spend their time spitting on it.

It's alluring in theory. In practice it can only work in small units, since it seems difficult to exploit a whole swell line with a long float, because the direction of the swell changes, or that more or less crossed swells create zones interference (these are waves) with cancellations and reinforcements varying both in time and in space. So we need a multitude of small power equipment, we do not economize on scale, and for maintenance, hello the galley. Another drawback is maritime traffic.
The advantage is that unlike other renewable energies, it also works at night. But it remains intermittent all the same: seas of oil or almost, even in Brest, we see some.
I see there that it is a very small power. If it's for a test of principle, that's understandable.

at the same time uranium is not inexhaustible too and when it is ALL nuclear power plants will have to shut up and hello the cost of decommissioning for decades and the maintenance of nuclear waste. Not out of the smelly shit! : Evil:
