Welcome Lietseu!
Fortunately, we passed by the storm that raged in Ontario and stuck the vehicles for 48 hours!
A small -20C the other night but it is not rare for the period because I have already seen the icebreakers on the St.Lawrence River in November and 4,5 meters of snow in front of the house three years ago. year!
PS: With a shovel I wouldn't be able to do it, I use a snow blower and a tractor given the size that I have to clear!

Hello !
Yes I should have put the snow shovel between "..."
With you others, there is often a lot of snow and large property that requires the right tools ...
What corner are you in, if it's not indiscreet?

Oh no, size question, it's more morteau sausages or Montbelliardes
He must have a good technological reason for us to have preferred the chains ... maybe it's worth nothing on ice for example.
Would have to ask Bombardier inventor of ski-doo ...

Personally, I find this invention brilliant.
Already by the weight gain (the tracks are very heavy)
Then, the mechanism is frankly much simpler than tracks.
Then, when you see that this small tractor is capable of pulling so many tons of wood, it's great.
Then, to work in the woods, there is less impact on the site, (always a story of weight)
Sometimes good inventions go unnoticed

Man is by nature a political animal (Aristotle)
Super funny and inventive!
On the other hand, I fear that the friction is important compared to the tracks which are without relative ground / chain slip.
This friction problem is well known in wheel / worm gears ... This machine carries the worms, the rack (printed as it goes) is snow ...
Another problem is that the machine is not "reasonably" self-propelled on non-snow-covered ground (or too lightly snow-covered) whereas the tracks are.
But it's really unusual and technically interesting. There are real performances demonstrated in traction and maneuverability Thank you Lietseu!
