Hello,
I would like to talk about the work of Clerget in 1900 that was working on diesel by injecting water directly into the combustion chamber.
The works are visible on the hydrorétro site under the name of "water engine"
It doubled the power and efficiency while lowering the pression in the room.

Clerget engine = Pantone?
Hello,
Very interesting the experiments of Clerget on the injection of water,
I knew the aviaton engine side and its engine 18 cylinders
aviation diesel, even the biggest one that it has built is the turbo-jet engine that put an end to diesel engines.
But his experiences with water at the beginning of the century I was not aware.
Now I also understand why when I tested the doping water + alcohol of my diesel in the month of October, test that I did not quantify, but good results (notament on the power in hill), as I had afraid to exceed a significant ratio with alcohol since unlike Clerget it is entered by the admission so be careful not that the engine is racing,
In fact we use the discoveries that were made 100 years back, I think at that time, they made many inventions that remained on tablets, and without electronics, fortunately there is internet, to disseminate this information.

I knew (a little) these experiences.
I read the .pdf in question and several inconsistencies are present (especially in terms of performance calculations ...) it's a shame because it is a very interesting document.
Now the diesel we use now have nothing to do with the 1er diesel: that it is at the speed level, compression ratio, ignition ....
Now the idea is ... it's up to us to try to exploit it. But we need to know more about these experiences ...

Waaw ... this site is a mine of information (the .pdf)! I'm going to spend a hell of a moment there!
