Re: The Kitchen Garden Sloth: Gardening without fatigue more than Bio

It is not very clever: horses appreciate hedges which give them shade and which cut the wind. Right now mine are spending the whole day near the hedge under some hazelnut trees.

Re: The Kitchen Garden Sloth: Gardening without fatigue more than Bio

I started using dung several years ago because I had plenty of it available, all you have to do is collect it when you have horses. I made a vegetable garden for 15 years on the former site of a barn which had burned down then was demolished, the earth was very hard and full ...

Re: The Kitchen Garden Sloth: Gardening without fatigue more than Bio

For Eham: what if you considered your horses as the first links in the transformation of hay?
Horses produce droppings that you can collect for mulching, that's what I've been doing for several years.
This way you recycle the waste produced and you use less hay.

Re: The Kitchen Garden Sloth: Gardening without fatigue more than Bio

The habitat of a hedgehog is about 4 hectares, much larger than our gardens in general. The holes at the bottom of the fences, the piles of branches and dead leaves, the hedges favor their installation. To release some I think we have to turn to animal care centers, in general ...

Re: The Kitchen Garden Sloth: Gardening without fatigue more than Bio

I started the vegetable garden with the same mulch: horse dung collected in the meadows. I think it should be thinner than the hay, I put about 10 cm. As for the suffocation of the plants of the old meadow, it works well, except for the wild carrots that must be pulled out. He ...

Re: The Kitchen Garden Sloth: Gardening without fatigue more than Bio

In the upper Bourbre valley where I live, the soils at the bottom of the valley called "the marshes" by the locals retain this black color, even if the marshes have been drained for a long time.

Re: The Kitchen Garden Sloth: Gardening without fatigue more than Bio

Thank you Didier for this last message, it gives me ideas, I'm going to try tunneling.
I always find it difficult to determine the right time to sow the different vegetables.

Re: The Kitchen Garden Sloth: Gardening without fatigue more than Bio

A good resource for nesting boxes is the site nichoirs.net, the page on woodpeckers is here: http://nichoirs.net/page5-11.html On birds in general there is some birds.net and ornithomedia. I am developing my land to promote biodiversity, I put nesting boxes almost all ...

Re: Hedgehog vegetable garden

Positive projects are essential for well-being and there are plenty of ways to take care of the mind usefully in our gardens. In the insect guest rooms I put the stems that I find, depending on the collection opportunities, under the tile is elderberry massacred by the green spaces of ...
