What thin product finish directly on polystyrene?

by Christophe » 28/11/12, 21:47

As part of this project: https://www.econologie.com/forums/chantier-d ... 12139.html I noticed that the guides (in aluminum) of the roller shutters were bad thermal bridges (condensation while it hardly freezes there ...).

We see one in this picture (don't try to understand yes the shutters are inside... question of facade conservation ...)

Dimensions approximately 5cm by 70cm.

So to avoid this, I would like to directly glue a block of extruded polystyrene as thick as possible ... so worry: I have very little room left for the finish, 5mm obamot ...

In short, what thin product can I use that fits on the EPS and that also finishes? A plaster? A mortar?

Thank you

The powder glue that is used to do everything on EPS in the exterior insulation of houses

for example http://www.zolpan.fr/peintures/PRODUITS ... 02012_2426

Spread with a trowel and smoothed with a float

I will scratch the insulation and treat it with betocontact.
If it is polystyrene expense no need to betocontact or
to scratch.

Then plaster.

Well it is noted: it will be extruded polystyrene ...

BetonContact I have some, they spun me at bigmat as a primer for plasterboard but I have doubts (nothing indicates that this is going on the plaster in the instructions) ... will give them back my thoughts and take the gyproc primer ...

What do you think Rabbit as you know the product?

Betokontakt is used to allow plaster to adhere to a surface
too smooth or dusty. It is not necessary to put any on the
gyproc plates. The cardboard of these plates is designed to be coated
plaster (join filler and join finisher), but can be coated with Goldband
(which is not desirable, max thickness 2cm by forcing hard)
You have to mix the Betokontakt well to put the sand back into suspension.
Coat after setting. I am not sure that the Betokontakt adhere al alu.
To cap plaster (already taken or smooth) on plaster the Betokontakt is
desirable.
The Betokontakt no longer allows the wall to breathe. It is indeed
hermetic
Fiberglass reinforcing fabric must be put between the polyester plates. Between the polyester and the walls, we make a nice finish that
will be redone with paintable putty when the plaster has dried.

Small note: the plaster on the polyester is fragile. Avoid hitting the backrest of the chairs.
I have capped plaster (thickness (2 to 5 mm) on polyester but only to make
ceiling.

The great benefit of plaster over polyester is that it is an economical and easy way to insulate and make a finished surface inexpensively.
In addition, the plaster + Polyester allows the diffusion towards the outside of the
water vapour.
