Expansion tank: pressure mounting and adjustment

From a manual to an expansion tank manufacturer: Reflex http://www.reflex.de/

a) Assembly (always on the "suction" side of the circulator)

b) Setting the network service pressure and vase

explanations:

P0 = Static pressure = height of your circuit m / 10 0.2 + b (the delta = 2 0 other in the case of an individual boiler installation)
PF = water pressure + cold = P0 bars at least 0.3
PSV = opening pressure of the safety group
Pe = final set pressure.

Example: a circuit 12 m high.

P0 vase = 12 / 10 + = 0.2 1.4 bar (usually set to 1.5 original bars)
PF cold water = 1.4 0.3 + = 1.7 bar
PSV = 3 bars (value in most cases, often not adjustable factory)
Pe of hot water = <2.5 bars (to be checked after increase in T °)

So the rule is to de / inflate the vase to the calculated value and add 0.3 bars on the water system. Then check to warm the value remains below safe pressure - 0.5 bars.

ps: hey this little free app looks nice

Important: it is essential to make the precharge (1 step) of the expansion tank when there is no water pressure, because after, necessarily, water pressure and air s' balance!

Here is another representation of the setting:
