Hello everyone !
I see a lot of ads praising the almost miraculous product of solar panels with "vacuum tubes"!
Some of you would they have info and / or experience on this techno. ??
Thank you in advance
Chris.
Solar Thermal: vacuum tubes ???
Read and watch the curves on apper:

See various posts on econology, with sometimes, also problems of frost and snow.

There is nothing '' miraculous '' about it.
The performance is a little better than conventional flat solar panels, but it is more expensive.
It is recommended for small roof areas.

Read studies in cold countries:

to choose well, and not have surprises too late.

Another in-depth study on 88 different places in England and Ireland, very little difference for domestic water, but the mode of use is much more important:
http://www.ecologics.ie/wp-content/uplo ... 0study.pdf
http://www.ecologics.ie/wp-content/uplo ... 0study.pdf
In the field trial, there was little difference between the
total solar energy yield of those installations that used
flat-plate solar collectors and those that used
Evacuated-tube solar collectors
The trial found that the way householders use their solar
water heating system is critical in achieving the best
results from solar water heating systems. Better advice
to users on how to control their solar water heating
systems (in terms of volume of hot water use, timing of
back-up heating and hot water use, and temperatures
required) is essential
A well-installed and properly used solar water heating
system is likely to provide carbon savings. The typical
savings are 230kg / year when replacing gas and 510kg / year
when replacing electric immersion heating.
