Institutions: public buildings and energy savings

by Christophe » 12/12/07, 10:55

You know and see it all, sustainable development is in "fashion" (fashion that I hope sustainable), that it is at the national, regional and even municipal level (more or less important according to the municipality).

"Everyone" encourages people to save energy.

Well, in these conditions, I'm shocked by one thing: the LAMENTABLE equipment of buildings and public buildings.

Observe your town hall, your schools, your high schools ... they are often chasms energy. : Evil:

To name only 2 criterion: glazing and lighting. In a lot of cases it is simple glazing and economic bulbs are more than rare (although the neon are still quite common but still ...).

Obviously all the (big) cities will show you "new" energy-saving buildings and the regions will show you wood or biogas boilers. Obviously ...

For example, the new building of the Alsace regional council is a "semi" organic climatic building (well there is a maximum of glazing all the same therefore losses in winter and greenhouse effect in summer), finally on paper it is a building "thrifty" ... but a large majority of obsolete and energetically obsolete buildings are still in "service" that would make any consultant in Energy Diagnostics crazy!

So governments and policymakers who advocate loudly and clearly for individuals to invest could start to set an example? And I do not speak by building new buildings that cost billions but by rehabilitating the buildings in function! What does it cost to change bulbs for a state? Frankly? It's a joke ...

On the other hand, it is our taxes that pay their energy losses so good ... as long as the financial balance is there it should not generate them. But ecologically it makes me angry ... And you? You probably have some examples near you ...

ps: in your opinion, the buildings of the high French authorities are isolated and heated how? I think of Matignon, the Parliament, the Elysée, the Ministries ...

It is an approach that is more and more popular as you say.
Only on the old is much more difficult than on new projects.
For the latter, most buildings are in HQE standard and in the future should be self-sufficient in energy .....
As for our local elected representatives, I remind you that they are ONLY elected ... despite some big cities, or they are a job!
And by the way, we should campaign to impose solar panels on the roofs of our expensive surfaces!

Change chassis or even easier: to make the glazing is really not the sea to drink ...

I bet the return is a few months concerning the glazing!

What is the use of HQE if 99% of other premises are energy-consuming shits?

Ah yes it is for the IMAGE ...

For large areas it's another debate. Energetically there is no worse than large areas ... still composed mostly of simple sheets ...

It could even do solar air conditioning but that ... the air conditioner lobby and French Electricity Company "standby" ...

In Belgium a supermarket has invested in a wind turbine:

Sustainable development yes, the transgenic rabbit no! : Mrgreen:
(sorry, I could not help myself : Oops: )

For the Poitou Charentes region Ms. Royal had promised a few years ago to improve public buildings, among other things to place solar collectors on the roof of high schools. I do not know where this plan is.

Fluorescent lighting is good, but you still have to take the trouble to turn off the switches when you leave. One evening I passed the concierge who told me with a smile: "Ah, you are the last to leave, so I don't need to come and check the lighting and the closing of the doors and windows!".
All is said...

Nice word :) which sums up pretty well my initial thought of this subject!

Sorry for Royal but:
A) Where is it?
B) Put solar collectors and do not isolate it is blank... or again it is for the image (double glazing or glazing is seen less than sensor ... finally from the outside) ...

This ecology is aboutpolitical escrology, no more no less!

Hold on this yesterday yesterday I put a document on collective solar collector if it interests the world: https://www.econologie.com/energie-solai ... -3555.html

Bonsoir

It is often said that "the shoemakers have the worst shoes"

Perhaps we should pose the problem to our Minister of State, Minister of Ecology, Sustainable Development and Planning
In terms of example, where is your ministry?
Do you show the example?

You speak, this kind of angry question will be ignored ... and they will say: look at our modern buildings are "low energy" (yeah yeah ... low energy with reversible air conditioning ...) : Evil:

On the other hand before the municipal ones it is perhaps the moment to go to see the town halls and to challenge the candidate mayors ... There are still some days ... It would be funny in hidden camera like ... style:

We: "What do you think of energy saving equipment for your fellow citizens"

The mayor: "We have a development and aid policy .... etc etc balbalabaaa ..." (we know the song)

Us: "Is your town hall equipped with solar collectors or economical light bulbs?"

The mayor: "Uh ... JOKER" :D :D :D

Ah well I totally agree with you, I expressed myself there
https://www.econologie.com/forums/post73998.html#73998 and I discover at the same time your subject open in December.

Hello,

At 52 years, it is for me a first. I mean to be a candidate on an electoral list. That of my commune which has a thousand voters.
It is precisely these subjects that made me decide to "go there".
In my small commune, the canton's chief town, energy management is disastrous. Being a heating specialist and a specialist in renewable energies, I measure the job to be done, and also the potential.
If I am elected, we will start by taking advantage of the Energy Orientation Council. This operation totally subsidized by the ADEME is a study by competent people of all the energy bills of the municipality.

This possibility is underutilized. You must check with the CAUE in your area. Let it know!
The continuation of the studies is subventinné to 50% (feasibility).
