Gasifier modern information and videos, by Lejustemilieu

by the middle » 18/01/10, 12:52

Hello,
The gasifier has been frowned upon for ages, often because it clogs the engines.
Recently, I came across an American pub:
Do not be afraid, everything is in English, but the videos are very explanatory
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ykite4uX6Kg
I thought, what a beautiful blue flame :D
I wanted to know more, and I found the assembly of this "wood gas" burner: (the music is superb)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8Zefrhc8kgM
Then, after some research, I came across a butane gas cooker, which rotates with the wood gas
: Cheesy:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0xmRWw9LWFw
So, I said to myself ... hmm, the gases from the gasifier are "dirty", how do they do it?
I sought an explanatory video, and this is what I found:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q1yZuwyhVic
Following this discovery, I looked for applications ...
First clippers (excess gas is burned)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F258s13UxfY
A tractor mower:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cTqXYp28DDc
Then a real tractor:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AksUuOckWpI
Then an industrial version:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oM0MCPViZoo
How to build a gas machine (explained by a pro)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RCtLZWnTuog
A little theory ...
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0PZr9uXegZw
It's up to you to judge whether these people are wrong, I only understood 50% of their explanations ...
But for me, a blue flame from wood is a marvel.
I threw something at you to continue and to share in my opinion it is worth it.
PS
It should develop the why and how of the system in French ... because there is NOTHING NOTHING on this modern gasifier in French ....
I will not do it, I do not have time.
Pyrolise .... etc ...
A +, which depresses the right (it happens : Cheesy: ) : Cheesy:
PS, I express to note (by Lejustemilieu) like that some people save time : Cheesy:

This is apparently in Finland. I have the same tractor without the gasifier : Cheesy:

Interesting stuff indeed

I am fairly steadied gasogenic level.

It can be considered a return of 70% wet wood to syngas (study I conducted with a colleague 2 years ago;)

It was also established that the best way to value it was to put it in an MCI to make electricity. With cogeneration, some announce the yield of 93% !!!

And a French manufacturer of gasifier based on the Viking.
There are also groups for enhancing animal fats:

A colleague who did an internship said their gazo works with tire scraps !!!

Super subject anyway

In France ... The use of a vehicle with gas is subject to authorization from customs and the Ministry of Energy ... So 'is dead..But this is my next project ...

The efficiency of the gasifier is just appallingly bad (40kg of charcoal per 100km on a "traction" during the war) and ultra polluting: I do not understand why we insist on this system which was born and died with the war. .and which I hope will never live again ...

Hello oiseautempete,
It seems that things have changed in this area.
Especially in the industrial field.
Everything is recovered, almost.
I do not know if the pull of the 40-45 war using pyrolysis to gas ...
It seems that things have evolved well in this area, and you rely on a prehistoric technology.
Harr, I have to leave, I will continue after

Re
The gasifier is no longer considered to propel cars by certain enthusiasts. Today, it is called a gasifier (to avoid the joys). For searches, type "wood gasifier" on the google friend.
So at industrial level coupled with a good MCI, it is an excellent system of co-biomass. Posting total returns of over 90% (more than the biogas sector), and electrical 20% (as of plupars Cogé system).
And all this for a ridiculous price. So before entering this technique that has made much progress in the shadow of the oil, inform you, instead of talking about derisory performance ...

Furthermore the gazo was not born with the war, but 100 years prior to power urban lighting networks.

thank you ptilu
Before speaking (to err is human bahh : Cheesy: ), We must look industrial link I gave, and if we look a little on the net, there are others.
I don't like the term gasifier, it looks bad ... "face"
the first petrol cars have nothing to do with today's cars, technology progressing in the right direction ..
But it may be too late .. :? (Another debate)

FYI producer gas has substantially the same power: Jupiter than diesel. So in a diesel engine it should not be so much loss of power that ca.

A macro:

Never use a gas generator in a car!
In addition to the square occupied by the installation, the gasification efficiency is really in a conssomateur system. And driving should really be particlière to prevent the extinction of the reaction. In addition, it is necessary to turn 1h, so it's really not effective ...

The real issues of the gasifier (to avoid archaic connotation and own the car) is the production of heat and électrécité ... We had calculated that the wood waste accounted 20% of the French fleet conssomation !
Why not immaginer a system based on cooperatives (so to hand agricultural expoitants) or farmers revaloriserais waste wood (towpath, brush and other), making the manufacture of wood chips and being electricity producer ? And Cogé chaufferais their greenhouses and home ... and why not food plants
