Uh, not too much agreement: double glazing (modern) is given for K 1.1 to 1.4 it seems to me ... or R = 0.7 to 0.9 C ° .m² / W

1 cm of polystyrene is at best R = 0.01 / 0.04 = 0.25 ... it is therefore necessary indeed the 3 cm that you announce. 1 cm is largely insufficient ...

An advantage all the same with my box is that the slot for passage of the shutter has very little play and that there is also very little play when the shutter is rolled up. So that limits convection ...

double glazing (modern)

older, you need triple glazing !!

The value is given by the thickness of the laminar boundary layer without convection and vortices, along the double glazing depending on the wind outside and convections outside:
so outside 0,5cm, air gap thickness 0,5 to 1 cm max and 0,5 to 1 cm inside, at worst 1,5 and at best 3cm !!!

This laminar layer varies little (factor 3 max except winds of 100Km / h) and therefore is a good way to find your way simply, in heat exchanges.

Ask the installer or promoter for explanations, where are the screws to spot behind the painting sometimes !!
It is essential to be able to access the shutter inside to unlock or repair it if necessary !!!
See the manufacturer too.

And also look in detail how it is laid (clues to see).

It doesn't seem easier than 50 screws to be hidden hidden behind a coat of paint !!

That of the blog has no thermal insulation !!

It was a kind of cylinder split in its length in flexible insulating material which came to surround the shutter in the box to isolate the interior from the exterior ...

This also reduced the space of the shutter exit slot ....

But according to one client it is not as effective as they claim. Finally always better than nothing.

Hello,

I don't know if it would be advisable for me? because the VMC air inlet is on the box.

is that a joke? an air intake through a shutter box?
it's weird.
