Wood heating: why and how? Folder

by Christophe » 11/01/10, 21:56

I am finalizing a complete dossier on wood heating: choose wood heating

Today I finished writing an article on types and kinds of firewood: logs, chips, pellets and wood briquettes (Read also: chemical and physical properties of firewood)

Here are the upcoming games:

- Select a wood burning stove
- Choose your wood boiler
- While design a fireplace and a conduit to get a good draw
- Regulation for fireplaces
- Making a hot water recovery on a wood stove: 2 examples
- Forests in France
- The production of pellets

Already available:

- Complete file on the presentation of a pellet boiler installation at a private home
- A wooden and solar house
- Self-installation of a Deom Turbo wood boiler
- Wood heating and pollution on health

Goods.

Little taste for the choice of wood stove:

Personally, without advertising, I like the Invicta which combine modern design and frankly reasonable prices! In addition it is (still) French ...

Very good.

Why not update the pellet file and put it in the package?

As soon as I have a little time, I want to contribute!

:) if it pleases didi is that it must be good then and that I have not told too much bullshit ... : Cheesy:

What do you mean by refresh? What points? Because apart from the 1st image (price curve) on this page https://www.econologie.com/pourquoi-cho ... lets-bois/ , the file still seems topical to me, right?

Thank you for the help!

Here I could put a link to the subject of your installation where you had put a lot of photos ... but remind me more which one it is : Cheesy: :? Help!

Update / complete:

- a question that often comes up: what about deforestation?
- indeed, the price series
- new boilers out (for example: the new Viessmann)
- complete: top automatic boilers vs more rustic boilers (cheaper but without automation)
- difficulties or traps ...

Anyway, in short, I could think about the things I keep repeating ...

It's not new: wood interests me. And there is birch! (with such a valve, you are a little bent, I hope).

Good job ... making a synthesis of a whole multi information saves time.
Wood heating is legal, says Christophe!
That said, wood heating deserves to be analyzed in more depth.
When friends tell me that burning recycled vegetable oil is polluting, I answer them, burning wood also pollutes!
Are there any serious studies on burning wood or vegetable oil?
No, in any case not massively disclosed.

Thanks for the suggestions. Regarding the evolution of the material it's still easier to do it on the forum because it "moves" all the time ...

For the difficulties I talked about it in the intro (disadvantages): https://www.econologie.com/se-chauffer-bois-pourquoi/

It's fast and if you have other advantages / disadvantages of wood heating, we can discuss it!

energies-renewable / photo-boiler-a-pellet-OKOFEN-install-and-storage-t5995.html added on the intro page.

Glad you like it LeJuste ...

I don't know what you mean by "serious" but there are already some links in the file which concern wood pollution, here they are:

CO2 climate-change / impact-the-real-of-heating-au-wood-t1014.html
heating-insulation / heating-wood-and-pollution-t7103.html

Then see also:

https://www.econologie.com/biocarburants-biomasse/chauffage-bois/

https://www.econologie.com/combustion-p ... -energies/

https://www.econologie.com/combustion-p ... ropellets/

The problem is, as I said in the dossier: in wood logs, no wood is exactly the same (humidity, essence,% bark ...) nor does it burn in exactly the same way (appliance, draw, interview ...) ... so it is VERY difficult to make relevant studies on the subject because they will not be really applicable to all (unlike fuel oil which is almost the same everywhere on Earth!).

I think nevertheless that the ademe must have some studies at hand ... must excavate :)
