you should know that before studying this pump the first tests were done with a hand pump, which is found in farms, at the end of the lever they put a float, then placed the pump at sea at each time the waves activated the lever thanks to the float, so the water was pumped

Isn't this the pump that was presented to us a few weeks ago as a perpetual motion machine?
This pump is activated by human force, like the pump which is at the end of the mechanism. This has the advantage of being more regular, that you should not bend down and that you should not restart the water with each revolution. The progress of this installation is rather ergonomic. There must still be a way to reduce the size of this machine.
In the same genre, there is a flywheel pump on the Place de Mariembourg which in a different way fulfills the same role.

and thank you for your resurrections of machines that will come back into fashion…
The Serbian pump, does not seem well proportioned.
I imagine myself in its place, and I find that it is a lot of movements for a small jet of water.
The ordinary hand pump seems more efficient.
Frankly, to fill a drinker; instead of this bulky pendulum, which makes you sweat under your arms, I would have put a carcass of a bicycle with a derailleur actuating a flywheel (and with a clutch for the comfort of starting
).
Pedaling develops more energy, and seems cooler, for pumping more than 20 liters of water.

it is true this installation is rather bulky, on the other hand the hydraulic pendulum (that of chateauvieux) what do you think, use the water of a small stream or a reach to pump water from a tablecloth underground alternative filling of two legs, here are some examples of pedal pumps

The idea is good. Exercise fiare, save energy, water your garden.
Let's not forget the giant pump in "the madness of grandeur" operated by slaves to water a yucca.
We can do that too with a stepper, there are already pistons under the feet.
