9 times out of 10 it's not compatible, you have to play the dremel in the merlin to adapt the handle (and not the other way around)

The Dremel yes, if you have one, the wood rasp is also effective for this type of adjustment. Just in case, you can also go to the store with the head, in order to select the handle that will come closest to the required dimension.

That's exactly what the storekeeper told me yesterday...however, they only had one wooden "Merlin" model...so it's easy to see!

He also didn't know how the composite sleeves were held...just the initial pressure?

With a composite handle it is not the handle that must be adjusted, but the merlin head (hence the dremel)
it holds because it’s conical.
