this is how it looks like a classic collar die and a male die to put in the pipe

Re: Brake hose repair
then we position the press and we serve .... Make sure that everything stays in line ... do not forget to put your nut or fitting before pressing your collar ...

It gives that
You will say not very pretty his thing .....
By looking at the back of the housing in which it is screwed ....
We see that there is a male cone which will fit into the pipe ....

Re: Brake hose repair
After tightening on the female end ... Everything falls into place ....
All that remains is to form the pipe by twisting it between inch and index or by using cylinders of different diameters ... to get as close as possible to the shape of the original pipe ...
And adjust in place on the vehicle ... By playing on the malleability of the pipe

Re: Brake hose repair
- I come back to the annealing of your cupro nikel, there are times when the delivery annealing was not done well (at too low temperature), so the pipe is too stiff and it will not go well even though you do.
- If the pipe is not clamped hard enough in the tool (die) it will retreat, messing with you (collar too short among others and or very uneven thickness).
- If you cannot act on the tightening at the tooling level, you can surround the pipe with fine schotch (number of turns to be defined).
- This tightening problem can occur when the diameter of the pipe is at the minimum tolerance.
- You don't have to do the full flare all at once, you stop halfway for example to check and turn the pipe 90 °. Sometimes this distributes the defects which thus become acceptable.
- In difficult cases, you can do this by putting grease everywhere except at the level where the pipe is clamped which must remain catchy.
- You do not have to do the same route / length as the original pipe. I made a sort of additional loop of 10 or 15 cm in diameter to have slack and be able to redo one side when it had messed up instead of systematically throwing 1 m of pipe for each miss.

Reason is the madness of the strongest. The reason for the less strong it is madness.

Re: Brake hose repair
For the routing of the pipes ... I stayed as close as possible to the origin for their protection .... The machine in question is not used to go shopping in Auchan .... The pipes are rather goods originally protected ... In fact the initial disaster ... It was the flexible between the rear axle and the body which had been caught ... Before it tore off it had twisted its supports and pinched the pipes to the level of the fittings .... When it was necessary to dismantle ... It broke ... let's say that as I had the pipe flap ... I took the opportunity to redo those that my controller had deemed slightly corroded As proof of goodwill.
At the price of Chinese consumables .... 18 € 80 for 15 meters of pipes delivered to my letterbox ...
With the additional fittings that I ordered (for nothing because there were some delivered with the pipes) and the press kit ... I got it for 40 €
