Porous after not even 2 years I don't think ... but you never know ...

I know the bubble method ... but aren't leaks supposed to be heard too? The bathtub method is just to speed up research. Place level, with an inner tube it's easy, with a 1.4m mattress it is less ...

I think rather of welding ... and there nothing to do ... I keep looking ...

Put the whole mattress in the water, you would need a swimming pool : Lol: .

There is a simple method: well soapy water spread with a brush (or squarely liquid soap). It is used to detect gas leaks (but it is less spectacular than the lighter method : Lol:).

Good evening, in fact these mattresses are in flexible plastic covered with a fabric for comfort, shit it is when the leak is under this fabric, but otherwise, on the plastic I saw in the decathlon they sell a kit of repair, composed of a tube of glue and a transparent patch to cut to the size of the breach

these "patches" can be done by cutting out a beach ball or a cheap kid's buoy, I know that has nothing to do with it, but once to inflate a pool I had to use the chimney bellows, " tendonitis when you hold us "

but hey now there are even canister, water and dust vacuums that are sold with inflation tips to use with the blowing mode

Good evening, this is how some people inflate their mattresses effortlessly
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cv1R91ZJTwk

in any case it is not me who would do that, I would prefer to use the chimney bellows, a little more boring but cleaner
it's an alternative when you don't have an inflator

glue neoprene ... glue to inner tube ... glue to pvc pipes it does not work

you need real special glue, flexible pvc, and it works well: repair kits sold by pool engineers

it is used exactly like the neoprene glue or air tube: spread the glue, let it dry for 10 minutes and glue

neoprene glue almost works, but the plasticizers of flexible pvc are incompatible and it peels off quickly

to have glue in large quantities not too expensive there is a polyurethane glue perfectly compatible with flexible pvc

http://www.nicoulaud.fr/bostik-pu-520-xml-333-1201.html
this glue is as solid as the original welds
this bostik pu520 is a 2 component: once the mixture is made the duration of use is limited ... and it is used like neoprene glue

to detect leaks, only the big ones make noise: the most effective is to pass a sponge with soap

I happened to repair air chambers with low leaks that deflate a wheel in 1 week: when we pass the soapy sponge, we just see a bubble which magnifies gently

The air chambers are butyl (vulcanized rubber) very different from flexible PVC (thermoplastic).

Jardiland sells flexible pvc glue to the pool basin section in PVC. It works very well.

To strip the PVC before sticking, we use methyl ethyl ketone (MEK), a powerful solvent, which stinks well and dissolves the PVC. PVC glue is mek with suspended PVC. It's the same smell.

The flexible PVC glue smells of mek and neoprene. It must be a mixture of dissolved pvc and neoprene.

Otherwise, Sikabond AT Universal is a polyurethane sealant in a cartridge that sticks to almost anything, including flexible PVC (after careful cleaning with a mek). The drying is very long.

thank you for clarifying: it must be cleaned with a powerful solvent just before bonding: I simply use acetone

it is also valid for the hot welding of pvc ... without cleaning with acetone it comes off ... even pushing excessively the temperature, with cleaning with acetone the world start of hot softening done a solid weld

garden center selling PVC tarpaulin for pools: very good address for having good flexible pvc glue

unfortunately it is rarely indicated in the instructions for glue to clean with acetone

worse before we cleaned with trichlorethylene ... since it is prohibited for individuals, it is sold to replace gasoline-based cleaners: it is useless for sticking pvc
