Wind energy in France and Germany: key figures

Renewable energies except solar electric or thermal (seeforums dedicated below): wind turbines, energy from the sea, hydraulic and hydroelectricity, biomass, biogas, deep geothermal energy ...

The most determining factor (excluding machines) is the cost of connection to the network, which is done at the promoter's expense and which is excruciatingly expensive. That counts in millions of euros for a few kilometers. The percentages vary but it is certain that the machines (I mean manufactured, delivered, assembled, outside the foundation) represent much more than 50% of the total cost.

Wind power is profitable only because it is heavily subsidized. Wind power is used to puncture the taxpayer or the end customer.

As a reminder, the accounts for 2020 of the Beatrice wind farm in the North Sea:
Energy sale: £ 92,2 million
Renewable MWh grant: £ 281,3 million
Operating expenses: £ 127,4 million

In addition, wind turbines are much less reliable than expected. In the USA, where they are not subsidized, wind farms have already closed because they are not profitable, and of course no one was there to dismantle them. It remains to rot on its feet. In the best case, the pale not recyclable are buried! We have already discussed this here. Wind power is an ecological aberration. Environmentalism is now in the boot of the so-called green industry, which is only green in name.

French nuclear power has only been subsidized by the French taxpayer. Military AND civilian ("Trillions of billions" that it cost from the 50s to the present day). Try again Grandpa, make us laugh ... : Mrgreen:

Fortunately they still have gas and coal : Mrgreen:
Production from renewable energies fell by 23%. Unfavorable weather conditions led to a significant decrease in wind power production of 32,4% compared to the 1st quarter of 2020, which had to be compensated by an increased use of fossil fuel power stations in order to guarantee the security of supply.

This first quarter of 2021 once again highlighted the strong inter-seasonal variability of wind production. https://allemagne-energies.com/2021/06/ ... lectricite

Don't worry too much about them, they are far-sighted people and generally do things in a fairly organized way, even if some of their decisions can be found bizarre.
The next steps are the shutdown of 4000MW of nuclear power at the end of this year and another 4000MW at the end of 2022. It will certainly be seen in 2022 and 2023 on the call for fossils.
