yes I'm talking about acrylic paint!
it seems to me that soloplat has a wax or varnish intended for molding on plaster ...
Epoxy Resin Concentrator Manufacturing and Lamination
I think you take your head for nothing:
you take a 200cm / 100cm plate of polished stainless steel of 6/10, you make a metal frame, a rectangular frame with arches welded along the length, you calculate the bending and you bring in the stainless plate by bending it in the arches .
a stainless steel plate costs 40 €

Uh by the way, Mylar advised elsewhere, by I do not know who, would it not make a much better reflective product than aluminum?
Great your idea, continue you interest us!

Great idea, but a parable, it is calculated (normally) it's not just the result of bending!
Well basically, you're not wrong, but I believe that the manufacture of a stainless steel mold presupposes a work on the sleepers which will have to be worked in "parabola" with the adequate curvature ... not easy!
The idea of using satellite dishes, seems to me more interesting, but hey, who am I?

In this regard, could someone remind me how we calculate a parabola? I learned this at school, but it was so long ago ... an update is necessary, THANK YOU!

For the calculation of a parabola no need also to take the head here is what to calculate
http://www.solaire-chauffe-eau.info/par ... uction.php
as for the parabolic dish, the calculation of curvature is also done with this link, it is not a stainless steel mold, the polished stainless steel serves as a reflector

Super this Mido66 link!
Really useful ...
Greetings from Lietseu Miawwwww
I repeat my question nonetheless about the parable

Hello,
Before launching into the molds I looked at the metal sheets. I looked in DIY stores for the general public and I did not find metal sheets that seemed to me to be very reflective or that were cheap (40 euros for 2m2 is cheap).
Mido I am interested so that you specify your source as for these sheets.
I don't think making a template is difficult. For my molds I made them out of wood and polystyrene. Each time I ended up filing them all at the same time and joined to smooth the profile. In metal it doesn't have to be much more complicated. But it is an iteration approach to find the right technique.
After making my polyester print and breaking my plaster mold I redid some fresh polyester to stick the mylar on my form. The result is not terrible either because the surface is curled because it did not stick well. Result instead of a focal point I get a focal spot of 2/3 cm over the entire length of my parabolic cylinder. It's not so bad !
Then I wanted to redo a mold with another technique: a frame with the two parabolic profiles on each side that I filled with plaster. (parabolic surface at the top) The shape was great. But I still hurriedly broke I think. Let dry at least 1 week before touching.
I tried again by pouring my plaster this time into a mold whose parabolic surface was at the bottom of the mold. There I did not break but I have a shape which is not completely cylindrical. Since then I have not touched up for lack of time.
In any case I find the principle of the polyester element quite well. It is resistant and light. But it is surely necessary to put the sheet of mylar at the bottom of the mold and make the polyester print directly on it.
Regarding your question Lietseu, see Wiki
