work is progressing

after 9 days of mechanical shovel and 9 m2 of poured concrete
falling height 1m95
and tons of vases out of the leakage channel abandoned for over thirty years
lifting of all fishponds
construction of the buckets in progress
wheel installed in 2 or 3 weeks
it going
then alternator or asynchronous generator
the production of elec is to supply the site
choice of converter batteries do you have good addresses

bucket wheel

by fredo24 » 07/02/10, 17:17

some more technical details and we're going to put it in the water
the baby after seeing screwed 360 stainless steel nut and the fixing behind the dam
remains the reduction to be expected depending on the number of turns between 30 and 40 per minute may be a little more surprised ???? : Shock:

the first turns of the wheel

by fredo24 » 19/02/10, 17:45

Image
about 30 rpm
it must still be adjusted the centrifugal force ejects too much water : Lol:
and find the right alternator to go with
so it's not cute this recup wheel :P
last adjustment tomorrow you have to move the water head
see you soon

Not bad, it's a great job.
I would say that the water supply is too far behind. It should normally arrive more or less at the base of the wheel axis, see even more forward depending on the speed of the water.

By cons it should be seen in load, once there is the resistant torque of the reduction and the alternator.
it should be possible to measure the torque of the wheel alone.

for the couple actually with a large torque wrench
may be
i don't know yet
I just replaced the water head directly above the wheel today
new tests on Sunday
there are 28 buckets with a filling rate at 50% of 26litres
and the wheel spins in two seconds ???
or 14 augetsx 26litres = 364 kg = ??? :?:

I looked at the photos and I think your water is badly channeled
too many losses
I suppose it turns "downstream" is from right to left according to the photo
I also think that the weight of stored water must be multiplied by the radius of your wheel to have the developed torque in mkg

I must have a book that I bought 30 years ago on
turbines and impellers, if I find it and there is an interesting chapter I will pass it on to you

but in the meantime great achievement and great savings in prospect

great job
lets say there are not many who do as much :?
take a gene of at least 10 kw (or 5 depending on availability) load the gradually (convector) and see how much power it slows down the wheel (asynchronous gene in resistive) with a wattmetre you can see the pu.
congratulations again 8)

before installing any generator, calculate your available power by applying this formula

Power = Torque x Speed of rotation

wattage
torque in Newton / meter
rotation speed in radian / second

then you can estimate your available power

and as boubka says, it's a very nice achievement

thank you zorbuck and boukka
I know very well the site hydroroue if you know sites speaking of manufacturing of multiplier and alternator has permanent magnet I am taker :|
belt or chain drive
the wheel is located 150m from my home what is the section and quality of cable to lay to have the least possible loss :?: to spend 5kwh
please
