Convert a wattmeter into a production counter ...

by LeGOldo » 11/06/12, 13:08

Hello to everyone,

I bought a consumption monitoring wattmeter (Wellman NETBPEM5) that I would like to convert into production monitoring for my 700 watt small wind turbine.

PLASMANU talked about it in one of his posts.
If he wanted to, or someone else, tell us more, I think that would interest a lot of us : Mrgreen:

Looking forward to your enlightening prose ...

Sincerely,

Hello
You have to open the power meter
Find in and out.
Put in on out and out on in.

either unsolder and reverse, like that

Either cut the 2 arrivals and put two sugars to reverse

and before modifying the connection, start by verifying that it is not all simply capable of counting backwards and displaying negative consumption!

No.
It does not work. It stays at zero. No account.
Some models do both.
But this is the cheapest basic.

I had to reverse taken to test before opening. I took a 220v blow : Mrgreen:

if your model does not want to count backwards, it is always possible to change it direction with adapters with male-male and female-female plugs

alas very dangerous if anyone disconnects and touches what should not be

it is much safer for a final realization to add an inverter in the wattmeter to easily invert the input and output wires

Hi,
And thank you for your answers.

I made the change. by Plasmanu :D and I have not tripped but on the display side, it's dead calm. Must say that there is no wind.

I tested with another unmodified one behind the PV inverter and I have my watts showing : Lol:

I don't know when the kWh increments so I'll leave it for a few hours to see.
Then I would put the other to find out if one or the other is increasing or decreasing.

The rest tomorrow, maybe

A+

Sincerely,

Compare the 230v of the network to the voltmeter and the wattmeter.
The voltage calibration of the wattmeter is adjustable. It must be given the value of the voltmeter.
This is my case: I had 260v indicated. Rectified 230v.
Otherwise difference between VA (VoltAmpere) and Watts.

Hello everybody

Effectively, they work in both directions and do not decrease : Lol:

Thanks again for your answers and ...

... see you next time !
