Wind or solar, this energy production is a race for more and more, so it's an anti-ecological race.
https://lejustenecessaire.wordpress.com/
If we want to give 10 billions of future humans comfort, for raw materials alone, it will extract four times what has already been used. The energy we do not consume is the most environmentally friendly, and does not require any wind turbines.
Our ecological nuisance must be divided by four, so why more energy ... to continue our crazy race against the planet, but also against future generations.

Wind at sea: the Dunkirk Park awarded mi-2019

AFP 15 November 2018

The government postponed Thursday to "mid-2019" the choice of the group selected to build a wind farm off Dunkirk, by endorsing a sharp drop in public subsidies in the first six projects off the French coast.

On the occasion of an interministerial committee for the sea in Dunkirk, Prime Minister Edouard Philippe once again clarified the schedule for the 500 megawatt wind farm planned off the northern port, which was initially to be allocated before the end of 2018. This The delay of a few months is linked, according to Matignon, to a renegotiation of the first six wind farms, "which was a prerequisite for the launch of the Dunkirk call for tenders".

No less than ten French and foreign groups were shortlisted in May 2017, including the two French giants EDF and Engie, the Spanish Iberdrola, the Norwegian Statoil and the Swedish Vattenfall. "The candidates will submit their offers in four months and we will be able to nominate the winner in mid-2019", announced Mr. Philippe.

The next multiannual energy programming (PPE), expected by the end of the year, "will describe the volumes of calls for tenders undertaken in the coming years", said the former mayor of Le Havre. , a city that must host wind power plants at sea.

The government, which on Thursday sent the final specifications to the preselected candidates in Dunkirk, is mobilized for the further development of the offshore wind industry in France, "he said.

Impatient to see this call for tenders succeed, wind energy professionals welcomed the launch of this final phase on Thursday. This is also "the culmination of (the) competitive dialogue procedure during which the State services exchanged (...) with the 10 preselected candidates", underlines the Renewable Energies Union (SER) in a communicated.

However, the SER calls on the government to "a more proactive policy" to speed up the pace of offshore wind tenders, both landed and floating. For France Wind Energy (FEE), the future PPE should include an additional 4 to 6 gigawatts (GW) on landed offshore wind power and an additional 3,2 to 4,2 GW on floating offshore wind power. here in 2030. No commercial capacity is in service today in France.

Five months after the agreement negotiated by Emmanuel Macron and Edouard Philippe with industry, the Minister François de Rugy also signed Thursday the letters approving the new rates for the six parks, which must see the day between 2021 and 2024.

Of the six parks concerned, three are developed by EDF, off Fécamp (Seine-Maritime), Saint-Nazaire (Loire-Atlantique) and Courseulles-sur-Mer (Calvados), two by Engie off Tréport (Seine-Maritime). Maritime) and the islands of Yeu and Noirmoutier (Vendée), and one by the Spanish Iberdrola, near Saint-Brieuc (Côtes-d'Armor). They each represent a power of about 500 megawatts (MW).

Last year, the government decided to renegotiate the public funding granted to these parks, awarded during tenders in 2012 and 2014, estimating that the tariffs expected at the time, between 180 and 230 euros per megawatt hour during 20 years, had become excessive given the fall in the cost of offshore wind in recent years.

The drop in subsidized tariffs of around 30% allows savings of "16 billion euros" over two decades for the end consumer, underlined Edouard Philippe. Subsidized tariffs are ultimately passed on to the electricity consumer.

Green light for the construction of a disputed offshore wind farm in Vendée

AFP March 06 2019

The final authorization needed to carry out a controversial offshore wind farm project off the islands of Yeu and Noirmoutier (Vendée) has been signed by the state, paving the way for the works, announced Wednesday the prefecture.

It is "the last of the ten authorizations requested by the offshore wind company Îles d'Yeu and Noirmoutier (EMYN) and the electricity transmission network (RTE) before being able to build the offshore wind farm project off the islands of Yeu and Noirmoutier, "said the prefecture of Vendée in a press release.

This final decision concerns "an exemption for uprooting, removal and transport of specimens of a protected plant species and for intentional disturbance of specimens of protected animal species", she added.

All fires are now green to begin the work of this project in development for four years and whose applications for administrative authorizations, filed in May 2017, had been investigated for eighteen months. They led to a public inquiry between April and May 2018 and several citizen consultations, the last of which took place in February.

In total, 76% of those who spoke expressed their opposition to the project, fearing that it would threaten biodiversity, local fishing and landscapes. A total of sixty-two wind turbines should be installed at 11,7 km from the island of Yeu and at 16,5 km from Noirmoutier for an investment of two billion euros. Commissioning should take place in 2021.

With a total power of 496 MW, the fleet must produce an average of 2 000 GWh per year, the annual power consumption of 850 000 people, according to the prefecture.

The Japanese giant Sumitomo Corporation announced in December its entry into the capital of this project and the one off the Tréport (Seine-Maritime), where Engie remains the main shareholder alongside the Portuguese group EDPR. Several wind farms offshore are planned in France, but none currently produces electricity.

Prefectural green lights at the Tréport offshore wind project

AFP 26 Feb. 2019

The prefectures of Seine-Maritime and Somme announced Tuesday in a joint statement have authorized by by-law the construction of the offshore wind farm off the Tréport and Dieppe (Seine-Maritime).

The commissioning of this fleet of 62 wind turbines, with a total power of 496 MW, is planned for 2023, according to the two prefectures.

The project provides for the installation of wind turbines at 17 km off Dieppe and 15,5 km from Le Tréport, at a depth of 14 to 24 meters, according to the site of EMDT, a subsidiary of Engie Energy Group selected to carry out this project. project.

The park would produce an average of 2.000 GWh per year, the annual power consumption of some 850.000 people, according to EMDT.

The various decrees approve "the concession agreement for the use of the maritime public domain" between the State and EMDT, and authorize "under the + law on water +, the development and operation of the wind farm". A "protected species" decree authorizes the operator to disturb or destroy certain specimens as part of the work.

Since its launch, this project has provoked a strong protest from local fishermen who fear its impact on the fish resource.

The government gave the green light to the operation of the wind farm, 6 November 2018.

The offshore wind farm of Saint-Nazaire is officially launched

Published 19 / 09 / 2019

EDF Renewables, RTE (Electricity Transmission Network) and the Canadian company Enbridge hosted on Thursday 19 September in Saint-Nazaire all the partners and industrial actors concerned by the realization of the first wind farm laid in French sea, a cost total of 2 billion euros.

"This is a historic moment, fruit of a collective work with elected officials and the entire territory, which is part of a climate emergency," said Beatrice Buffon, Deputy Director General of EDF Renouvelables. Offshore wind is one of the solutions to meet this problem. "

Jean-Marc Estay, for the environmental association Vert pays blanc et noir, insisted on the "exemplary duty". Like living Brittany and the League for the Protection of Birds, she chose to support the park project by documenting and acquiring expertise that will be used for the following projects, recalling that these associations would remain "vigilant in the construction and development phase. 'exploitation'.

"Constructive compromises"

A message well received by Georges Walley, of Enbridge, who is a shareholder in 50% of the park: "the commitments made must be respected, especially for the fishing industry and the environment. For José Jouneau, president of the Pays de la Loire regional fisheries committee (Corepem), "it was not about being for or against the project, but about acting as citizens. We have not always agreed, but we have always found constructive compromises, "he said.

RTE will start the preparatory work necessary for the terrestrial connection of the submarine cable as early as next week, Courance beach. The gradual commissioning of the 480 MW fleet is planned for the 2022 spring.

MHI Vestas to supply Groix Belle-Ile wind turbines

Published 07 / 10 / 2019

The floating wind farm pilot project at Groix Belle-Ile has a new partner for its turbines. The Danish-Japanese manufacturer MHI Vestas replaces GE, the initial supplier of the project.

The replacement of the US manufacturer, which announced in April the haliade 150 production halt at Groix to focus on the Haliade X, is accompanied by a major change in the project. From four wind turbines, the pilot farm is reduced to three. It will gain nevertheless in power. Since July 2016, when Groix Belle-Ile was one of the winners of the Ademe call for projects for floating wind, turbine technology has changed significantly. The wind turbine of MHI Vestas thus displays a unit power of 9,5 MW against 6 MW for the Haliade 150.

Shift one year
Both turbines, however, remain in similar jigs. "The technical changes made to the pilot farm should not lead to an increase in the environmental impact analyzed in the impact study", says the firm Groix et Belle-Île floating wind farm (FEFGBI), which is the project leader. With one less wind turbine, the spatial footprint of the project would change from 14 to less than 9 km2.

The arrival of MHI Vestas also made it possible to ratify the project financing agreements between Ademe and the FEFGBI company in which the Chinese company CGN, the Territorial Bank and Eolfi are shareholders. The change of turbines, which Naval energies will realize the floats, is also accompanied by a lag of one year of the realization of the project. "The installation and commissioning of the farm are planned for 2022", says one at Eolfi.

MHI Vestas selected for the Gulf of Lion wind turbines

Posted on 19 / 11 / 2019 lemarin

The pilot project for floating wind turbines off Leucate and Barcarès, carried by Engie, EDP renewables and the Territorial Bank, will be provided by MHI Vestas for the turbines. The announcement was made November 18.

The arrival of the danish-japanese turbine, which compensates for the defection of the German manufacturer Senvion in cessation of activity, is accompanied by changes in the project. From four, the number of wind turbines goes to three.

The project, whose floats for wind turbines will be designed by Principle Power, however, gaining power. It climbs from 25,2 to 30 MW. The choice of the company Les Éoliennes flottantes from the Gulf of Lion, to the maneuver in this file, was to privilege the 10 MW of MHI Vestas.

This turbine, equipped with a rotor of 164 meters in diameter, is the most powerful to date of the manufacturer. It should also be the most powerful to float when the park is commissioned, announced for 2022.

For MHI Vestas, who recently won the Groix Island project, this new success is "a continuation of the successful partnership between EDP Renewables, Engie and Principle Power in Windfloat Atlantic". This project, currently being installed off Portugal, includes three floating wind turbines from 8,4 MW.
