Hello everyone,
looking in my attic, I find old motors of reduced models, and not deciding to throw them, (memory of competition), I would like to know if someone forum would have ideas to make a wind turbine in air compressor with old 3,5cc engine.
Thank you all for your responses.

Hello Tigrou_838
The idea is original but what is it to fuel?

Hello
If I remember correctly my model airplane engines, these were 2-stroke semi diesel with methanol lubricated with castor oil or synthetic
Rotation speed greater than 10000 rpm
Speed close to that of sound at the blade tip
In operation, compression of the air / fuel mixture volume produces enough energy to ignite it and return the heat to the cylinder for the next cycle.
In compressor operation, the only possible recovery point for compressed air (top dead center of the piston) or for air intake (towards bottom point) is the orifice of the spark plug.
I suppose you need 2 valves on a Y, one to let the air in by closing the other and vice versa to send the compressed air in the other
That said, the compressed volume is very small and a wind turbine propeller rotates rather slowly compared to the nominal speed of the engine. In addition, the lack of regularity of the forces on the motor shaft supposes a rotational inertia, therefore rather large blades
For high pressures, the compression force could slow the rotation of the propeller.
In this case, it is necessary to calculate the power supplied by the wind, as for an electric wind turbine, and determine the characteristics of the machine.

compressed air wind turbine
Hello everyone,
to complete the info, 3,5cc engine, running on methanol, 3% synthetic oil, 4% nitrometane, top speed 20 rpm, power 40000hp.
they are competition car engines from 10 to 20 years old.
the recoverable part, is the compression at the level of the spark plug, little matter the speed, if it is to quietly fill a reserve of air.
and then wonder what to do with free compressed air.

Perhaps maintain the pressure of the tank of a compressor to actuate pneumatic tools (inflator, chisel hammer, etc ...) or the tank of a compressed air car if this mythical machine is born ...

compressed air wind turbine
hello cuicui,
I was just thinking about that, keeping the pressure in my little compressor,
and why not power a small air turbine to:
to make electricity in 12v,
to install water for my future rainwater system in the toilets,
maybe ideas above if people know a little pneumatic tools or what can be done with compressed air ????
