First of all, it is not just anyone and I am not lucky enough to be in the upper echelons to have the real figures.

In 2018 it was 140 billion. Since the possibilities of setting up are decreasing and nobody wants them any more of these windmills, it is normal that the cost falls for the State, but not that much : Mrgreen:

aid for wind power has made it possible to achieve a controlled cost well below nuclear power. there is plenty of room at sea for wind farms.

Lud dit syndrome
I didn't know it was, so I'll give you the definition:
Luddism is nothing other than a violent industrial conflict which opposed in the years 1811-1812 in England of the shearers and knitters on hand looms to the employers and manufacturers who favored the use of looms in the work of the wool and cotton. The struggle of the members of this clandestine movement, called Luddits, was characterized by "breakers of machines". The term "Luddism" is thus used to designate those who oppose new technologies or ardently criticize them. We even speak of neo-Luddism.

Luddism is a fairly widespread syndrome in all sectors of activity, it is true, subjected in recent years to an acceleration of changes brought about by the digital revolution. Everywhere, progress has its despisers. But there is one area where Luddism flourishes with ardor: the world of energy. And this is not the performance of Jean-François Carenco (see above), president of the Energy Regulatory Commission (CRE) during his hearing, on July 7, by the Economic Commission of the National Assembly, which will prove the contrary. It is the typical paragon of this bitter, even hateful, conservatism in the face of the development of new green energies.

As such, Jean-François Carenco's aversion to photovoltaic self-consumption, which is more if it is collective, represents the perfect example of uninhibited neo-Luddism, a threatening statement. Evoking on the subject a dangerous communitarianism against the background of the collapse of the common good that is the electricity network is symptomatic of bad faith. Today in France, there are only ten thousand self-consumers against more than a million and a half in Germany and hundreds of thousands in Italy. In terms of collective self-consumption, there are only a few dozen projects in France. Not enough to cry wolf! No offense to Mr. Carenco, the financing of the network is still far, very far, from being in danger.

This visceral attachment to a centralized world of energy of the President of CRE is to be found in the Jacobin structure of the state training of French elites from the grandes écoles - ENA for Jean-François Carenco - but also in this culture of rent , induced by the centralized energy model. Should everything change so that nothing changes? The rent must be preserved at all costs, even to the detriment of an economic, technological and climatic improvement that digitalized solar energy allows. This innovative vegetable energy is inscribed in the sense of history and in that of short circuits, direct from producer to consumer. Are tomatoes and radishes from organic vegetable gardens ruining fruit and vegetable professionals? Does the sea bream hanging from the hook of the Sunday fisherman endanger the fishing industry? Are homemade beauty products harming the giant L'Oréal? Nay. They simply respond to the deep aspirations of citizens waiting for something else, for something local, for respect for the environment. And the green wave of the last European and municipal elections largely corroborates the significance of these new citizen desires. To ignore them would be a denial of democracy ...

No, the president of CRE is not a “machine breaker” like the Luddits. Worse, he is a "dream breaker". The desire for solar energy is pervasive. The desire to produce and consume one's own energy is strong. The field survey of the 2020 Barometer of the Institute for Radiation Protection and Nuclear Safety (IRSN) which took place from November 18 to December 3, 2019, before the start of the Covid-19 pandemic shows that solar is in favor by 91% of respondents.

In video, it looks like this:

The president of the CRE vociferates, self-consumption will develop and it is not by STILL increasing the tariffs on August 1st that things will get better.
Nuke production will drop from year to year. It's just inevitable.

CQFD. Julien Aubert is not in the upper echelons, he is one more puppet without qualification (deputy), a notorious nuclear lobbyist and a proven climate skeptic.

Since we are talking about costs ...
Report of the Court of Auditors "Support for renewable energies" - March 2018:
[The subsidies granted to photovoltaics in France will represent] “€ 2 billion (billion euros) per year until 2030 (ie € 38,4 billion cumulatively) for a production volume equivalent to 0,7% of the electricity mix. "", and that "the full realization of the 2011 and 2013 calls for tenders on offshore wind power would cost the public finances € 2 billion per year for 20 years (i.e. € 40,7 billion cumulatively) to a volume equivalent to 2% of electricity production. "

To be compared with the cost of the "great refit" of French nuclear reactors: from 50 to 100 billion € depending on the sources, for 71% of electricity production in France.

it's a shame to extract 2mn focused on self-consumption, which is a (very small) subject that does not have much to do in general with the electric mix.

The hearing of the President of CRE is here, but we must have more than an hour to devote to it .....

The first fuel convoy for the EPR site arrives this Monday, October 26 in Flamanville, from the Drôme. This is uranium enriched on the site of the Framatome plant in Romans-sur-Isère. A first step towards the start-up of the 3rd generation reactor scheduled for the end of 2023.
