When a nuclear industrialist (radio-nuclides) pollutes the environment, the first thing he does is not to alert the population or to invest in an expensive and dangerous repair, but to hide it and put scotch tape by a subcontracting company that is not aware of the risks ...

you can call CRIIRAD or greenpeace or sortirduclear, I think they will be there for you, especially in these moments of high nuclear pollution ...

only 1 local resident is sufficient for these associations to bring civil action.

example of what to do so as not to wait without doing anything that it continues to leak (because this is what happens in general):

Network "Quitting nuclear power" - Federation of 830 associations
Press release of Thursday August 28, 2008

Areva / Tricastin nuclear site:
20 million for eye powder

- "Getting out of nuclear power" calls for demonstrations on September 6 in Avignon
- Areva's facilities must be closed and not patched

By announcing to mobilize 20 million euros "to strengthen the environmental and health surveillance of the site and settle the legacies of its industrial past", Areva is trying to throw dust in the eyes of citizens.

Indeed, the measures announced are derisory and unsuitable because it is better to prevent than to cure: "strengthening environmental monitoring" does not prevent radioactive leaks. What is only an announcement effect cannot prevent the conviction of Areva in court: residents, the town of Bollène, and associations such as the "Sortir du nuclear" network have lodged a complaint.

However, although the sum of 20 million euros is derisory compared to the dilapidation of Areva's facilities, the "Sortir du nuclear" Network does not especially ask Areva to put more money for the rehabilitation of its facilities. : the only solution is that these installations - some of which are almost 50 years old! - be closed as soon as possible.

The "Sortir du nuclear" Network also draws attention to other Areva factories such as the Comurhex de Malvési (Aude), commissioned in 1959 (!), A completely obsolete installation which in recent years has caused significant discharge of radioactive sludge outside the site.

Consequently, the “Sortir du nuclear” Network calls on citizens to demonstrate on Saturday September 6 in Avignon, with the Antinuclear Collective 84. It will be a question of denouncing:

- the contaminations of summer 2008 in Tricastin and elsewhere: Socatri (Bollène, Vaucluse), Romans-sur-Isère (Drôme), Tricastin nuclear power plant (Drôme), St-Alban nuclear power plant (Isère), Comurhex (Pierrelatte , Drôme).

- the other nuclear installations which cover French territory and endanger all citizens

- the disinformation orchestrated by Areva and the Nuclear Safety Authority (ASN) whose sole mission seems to be to defuse the anger of citizens by classifying all events at level 0 or 1, even when they are very serious.

Some news from Fleurus' escape:

Investigations were opened to determine how this leak could have occurred, but especially why it was detected after only 3 days.
The wind was blowing in the wrong direction at the time of the leak, making it impossible to detect ...

: Shock: : Shock: : Shock: : Shock: : Shock:

And there is also the management of the crisis, certain bourgmestres (mayors) learning by radio that their commune was concerned
: Shock: : Shock: : Shock: : Shock: : Shock:

In short, we are far from the big plot but it is a series of "lightnesses" which could have had catastrophic consequences.

so who was in the direction of the wind at the time of the escape?

what does the map of the winds of the days of flight say? is it accessible? did the tag near site save it?

Oh that ..
No, the real reason is that the beacon works from Monday to Thursday from 9 a.m. to 17 p.m., until 15 p.m. on Friday. The on-call night and weekend beacon was on annual leave (priority because it has young children). But that, nobody will ever dare to say, the unions would not agree. : Cheesy:

and what do local residents say?

Everytime these are lightnesses so as not to panic the sheep ... this is why the CRIIRAD was formed during the Chernobyl era, to prevent them ... unfortunately they were not all listened to, I too ate eggs and milk at that time being a kid ...

the wind will take us all

who is that ?
what quote are you talking about?
but who do you want to hang at the end? strange vehemence .....

in the meantime, news from the front: it's still leaking at tricastin! they did well to monitor the site, so that at least the leaks are announced ...
The nuclear power plant at the Tricastin site (Drôme) in France is once again the scene of a new incident that occurred today. It is a fuel renewal operation that would be the cause.

It was the Nuclear Safety Authority (ASN) that made the announcement Monday morning after being informed by Electricité de France (EDF) that it was during the handling of fuel during unloading operations from the Tricastin 2 reactor that "two fuel assemblies remained attached to the upper internal structures during the removal operations," ASN said in the press release issued today.

This operation requires that the reactor vessel cover and the upper internal support structures be removed so that technicians can have access to the fuel assemblies and thus be able to replace them.

“The nuclear reactor core is made up of 157 fuel assemblies each comprising 264 rods that contain nuclear fuel. The reactors must be shut down periodically and unloaded to renew the fuel, ”says ASN.

As the two fuel assemblies remained attached, “the operator interrupted these operations and ordered the evacuation of the reactor building and its isolation, in accordance with the operating rules of the reactor. The two assemblies are under water in the tank, ”says ASN.

The incident is still ongoing

The incident, which is still ongoing, did not, according to ASN, have any consequences for the staff of the plant, any more than it would have caused any releases into the environment.
The EDF has proposed that ASN classify this incident as level 1 on the INES scale, which has seven. However, ASN has not yet communicated any information on this subject.

who learned how nuclear fuel was changed in a nuclear power plant?
at school ?

Such an incident has already occurred in the EDF PWRs. To change the spent fuel, you must:
1- stop the reactor, therefore the flow of neutrons with more borated water. Lower the temperature by injecting cold water, but not too much for some the tank has become fragile.
2- open the reactor cover without causing the assemblies, which then remain under 10 m. of water.
3- evacuate everyone to lift 7 m. the assemblies, with a movable bridge, to deposit them in the pool next door. Then evacuate them to a 3rd pool.
At Tricastin 2 yesterday, 2 assemblies came with the cover grid (not the first time). So we went back down into the water ... and we're looking for a solution. "The incident is still ongoing".
Who Said We Know Everything in the Nuclear Industry? Maybe not in Tricastin?

we imagine the new "liquidators" with their little mimines pulling on the fuel rods so that it comes ...
little thought on the way to the liquidators of Chernobyl who gave their lives and managed to minimize the melting of the heart ... without them would have been much worse ...

which brings us to the future question: if liquidators are needed, who will be the volunteers? the army?

or pro-nuclear?

then clearly display them, recognize them and put them on a list.

starting with Mr Borloo.

second, who is pro-nuclear on this site? go a little technological courage! you have to know how to assume your passions as nikolas says
