The Z-Machine in Les Echos

by Christophe » 25/05/07, 14:48

Astonishing but true ...

The French machine Z sulks energy [16 / 05 / 07]

Little "Sphinx".

In the middle of Quercy, at the Gramat Study Center (CEG), the DGA has been operating for a few years a small French Z machine (2,5 millions of amperes), called "Sphinx". Like her American sister, she is mainly used to test the resistance of nuclear warheads. Unlike her, she will not experience any civilian experiments. A few years ago, Gramat researchers had yet launched poles to their military tutelage to diversify their studies, without success. Asked by "Les Echos", the very "fierce" CEG ensures today have no energy project. This shyness investment worries the specialists of necking. "French skills in this power engineering are under threat," says one of them.

In Britain, an equivalent machine, Imperial College's Magpie (1,4 million amperes), is actively working on magnetic necking, especially on American funds. Not powerful enough to achieve the nuclear goals of the machine Z, it is used by Americans to complete their research on the necking itself. The Russians are also about to invest this research topic.

They want to boost nuclear power and associated credits.
So why not.

Ah well it's moving ... but not necessarily in the "right" direction ... but is it really surprising?

1) EPR

2) Hybrids

Let's wait to see their decisions against the GMO ... just to laugh a little ... : Shock:

Do not worry, I'm sure these are announcement effects

we have an excellent intelligence service, and when it comes to energy, our researchers know how to make simulations
