A visionary Robert bourassa had seen better in Hydro dams while creating 100 jobs!

Gentilly 1 not working and the cost of the Gentilly 2 power plant was successful over the rest of the nuclear project!

When, like you in Quebec, we have the potential in renewable energies, we must develop them absolutely as a priority over non-renewable energies, it would be criminal not to do so !! So well done your policies have made the right choice!
Project of 55 power plants for 50% of the energy? Do you need so much energy in Quebec? Or would there have been exports to the rest of Canada?
Video to compare to this one: https://www.econologie.com/forums/le-nucleai ... 10675.html

I come back from Quebec.
Well done for the dams, but there by -10, the apartment thermostat is at 28 ...
Another thing, the dams being very far, a lot of losses in the lines and cuts straight in the forests for the THT lines. (look at google earth, it's impressive the 100 m wide trenches in the forest)
See the network map:

Quite not very economical but:
a) their accommodation is quite well insulated (something not isolated it just doesn't exist)
b) their invoices per kWh are really low, reminds me more but I think it's around 5 to 6 cents CAN $ ...
André scanned us an invoice some time ago: he was making 4000 kWh per month ... here this is what we do a 1 year ...

Moué ... it is bordering on the wrong time because any centralized energy source (= "centralized in power plant") induces line losses ...
Nuclear power is also "far enough" and oil is imported over thousands of km ... which also induces energy losses ...
This is one of the "big" problems to be solved for the Desertec project, but it is far from insolvent! https://www.econologie.com/forums/desertec-e ... t5338.html
I prefer to consume 100% renewable energy with 30% losses than energy with less loss but polluting and exhaustible and potentially dangerous (warming, nuke waste ...)

I am not sure that the power lines in France, made during the years 60-80, were more optimized with respect to "nature":
Here is the route from geoportal: http://www.geoportail.fr/?c=2.433,49.03 ... 00%29&z=15 (zoom in and out, it is very precise locally)
Really nice geoportail: https://www.econologie.com/forums/geoportail ... 10372.html

Of course it is better! What bothers me is that they were dirty when drawing the power lines: all right ...
Perhaps they could have bypassed the parks etc ...
Uh!
What would it have changed?
It is not the hydro lines that are scary to see but the clear cuts to exploit the forest which seems more annoying to me!
No?
You pass them or your lines?

I put a link to the map of power lines in France above:
http://www.geoportail.fr/?c=2.433,49.03 ... 00%29&z=15
Surely lines from 400 to 000 V ....
To check
