Actions (vain?) Against expensive fuels

by Christophe » 09/06/08, 11:47

Even if I do not agree on everything (depending on the power a car will not consume less at low speed, in town the best is NOT to use your car), I relay all the same.

If the French were all civil servants maybe such actions would work otherwise it's really a waste of time ...

I "hate" to see this winter with fuel oil at 1.2 € ...

Special dedications for all those who took their neighbors installing solar for idiots.

Hello,

I have received the message below, suggesting that we do not ride on June 16th.

It is true that beyond fishermen and transport professionals, we are all victims of a sharp increase in petroleum products.

Three causes for this
-An increase in demand, but it is not as fast as the increase in tariffs
-Decrease in the parity of the dollar, even to buy a barrel that would be stable, more dollars are needed, so there is an error of interpretation.
-Speculation, the subprime crisis has accelerated speculation on commodities.

What can the French government do?

Lower taxes, we need revenue, France is over-indebted.
We can see that, with Europe, the government has lost its freedom to act.

With Europe, France has lost its freedom.

Block the oil markets so that the barrel does not exceed one hundred dollars, is it possible?

Isn't it the role of the stock exchanges, to regulate the markets, to prevent the markets from racing and causing major crises?

Rather than stop driving for a whole day, where the success of the mobilization is not guaranteed, is it not better to lower our speed, by 10 or 20 km / h, depending on our possibilities, we would gain 1 or 2? liter of consumption per 100Km, less PV, less accident, tire savings (replacement every 60000Km instead of 30 or 40000Km), less fuel sales therefore lower stock market prices.

By lowering our speed by 10 km / h we only lose 1 hour over a distance of 1000 km (hu?)

You should know that the first km we consume almost double the fuel.

We have to avoid reckless acceleration when starting, and then braking at the next traffic lights 200m further on.

Some offer carpooling, be careful to be well informed about your passengers, some will take advantage of this opportunity, for assault or car theft.

A mass mobilization on June 16 could be publicized, citizens of other countries could imitate us.

A way to put pressure on politicians, for a blocking of oil prices at 80 OR 100 dollars for example

cordially

GRANIER Marcel
