E85, 15% "gasoline" so almost 7 less than gasoline.
but 30% less energy, so about 5 times less thingWatt, so it remains roughly in the same range.
I should take the calculator, but I don't have the courage...
Fuel prices rise Essence and Diesel VS DGCCRF

Additional data...
PCI gasoline: 9,85 kWh/L
ethanol PCI: 6,10 kWh/L
E85 approx. 6,66 kWh/L

My neighbor has his plot grazed by a herd several times a year, so he can more easily access his shed and park his agricultural machinery and everyone is happy.
But I admit that we don't always have a herd available....
If in my town we have a herd of stupid herbivores to eat straw... I will propose to them next year

The only thing safe in the future. It is that there may chance that it conforms to our expectations ...

Go to page 23 to see the specific taxation of E85 in TICPE.
I don't know if pure ethanol is totally tax free, I would rather say no.
It is used in a 15% gasoline mixture.
€18/MWh for E85
77 € / MWh for gasoline
Thanks for the tax guide.
What I do not understand given this very big difference is that a priori no "flex fuel" vehicle (except at Ford it seems) seems to be marketed in France.
It is necessary to go through a conversion kit installed later, which is perfectly legal, the kits are also approved..
Does anyone have an explanation to this?

Re: Increase in gasoline and diesel fuel prices VS DGCCRF
yes the kits are legal and installable a posteriori.
but most of the E85 is consumed by unmodified or reprogrammed cars.

Maybe, I don't know, but that doesn't explain why manufacturers don't offer basic flex fuel models in their range?

Re: Increase in gasoline and diesel fuel prices VS DGCCRF
it is a tax pact with the State. Developing too much E85 means preventing more than one euro of tax per liter from being scraped off.
A corrupt affair if you will. We even have to look wider.
The oil-builder-State triptych has been making fun of the world for a long time.
In France, the E85 emerged under the impetus of Alain PROST and a certain agricultural lobby and my faith so much the better. But it was never really exciting either for the tankers or for Bercy.

Yeah, blah, not convinced .... Taxation can be rebalanced more or less gradually. As for manufacturers, it seems to me that their main concern is to sell cars. In short, I don't really believe in a "secret" pact as you mention it.
