French nuclear output voted ... in the Aquitaine region?

An info ... interesting:

The Aquitaine Region adopts a motion to leave nuclear power in Aquitaine

The majority of PS and Europe-Ecologie-les-Verts (EELV) in the Aquitaine regional council adopted a motion on Monday evening calling for a gradual exit from nuclear power in the region and a move towards a new energy model.

"This is a strong sign that at the level of regional executives, we are able to convince our socialist partners to move towards the decision to exit," Peggy Kançal, EELV regional advisor in charge of the climate plan, told AFP. .

After the "shock wave" created by Fukushima, "this is a huge step forward", she said, welcoming that "renewable energies are considered an industrial sector".

The motion was adopted in plenary by 55 votes out of 85 elected, the Left Front abstained and the Modem and UMP groups did not participate in the vote.

The text asks that, "within the framework of the regional Climate-Air-Energy plan co-piloted by the State and the Region, be drawn up a prospective scenario of gradual phase-out of nuclear adapted to our territory, in order to integrate and decline , in a precise and exhaustive way, the national exit process spread over 25 years and the gradual substitution of nuclear and fossil energies by renewable energies ".

According to the text of this motion, the regional council "opposes the construction of any new reactor in the Aquitaine region and marks its opposition to the principle of extending the operation of the four reactors of the Blaye power plant".

In addition, the region "affirms this new situation of phasing out nuclear power and moving towards a new energy model" that it "will translate into strong actions in its 2012 budget guidelines".
Friday, a text calling for "the gradual closure of the Blayais power station" was adopted by the Bordeaux Urban Community unanimously (EELV and PS groups), the PC groups and "Community of the future" chaired by Alain Juppé did not participate in the vote.

I do not know what is the "weight" of this law vis-à-vis the State and EdF / Areva but it is a first political step towards the French exit from nuclear power ... or a sword blow in the water?

Coincidence? This was voted on the same day as this sarko announcement: https://www.econologie.com/forums/subvention ... 10920.html

Good news, at least symbolic.

But the same decision should be declined on a personal level, leaving the nucleophiles to their shameful secrets and passing for example to ENERCOOP !

And of course thinking about stopping all electric heating, insulating, installing thermal solar and wood or pellet heating .... then photovoltaics: a whole program over several years :-)

But the key to nuclear power is not the region, it is the municipality that owns the electricity distribution network: it would be enough for it to put the management of this network under management, like many other municipalities, instead of conceding it to a private company, usually a nucleophile.

And if it leaves it under delegation of public service (DSP) it would have to put a clause in the invitation to tender prohibiting nucleophiles.

And you can participate in this movement: the commune is you, you can influence during the municipal election ...

: Shock: Incredible, the information on what is happening at home reaches me through Belgium. : Lol:

I thank bernardd for his suggestion for local action. : Idea:
In general, citizens consider themselves powerless to make a difference. :frown:
