According to the text of this motion, the regional council "opposes the construction of any new reactor in the Aquitaine region and marks its opposition to the principle of extending the operation of the four reactors of the Blaye power plant".

In addition, the region "affirms this new situation of phasing out nuclear power and moving towards a new energy model" that it "will translate into strong actions in its 2012 budget guidelines".
Friday, a text calling for "the gradual closure of the Blayais power station" was adopted by the Bordeaux Urban Community unanimously (EELV and PS groups), the PC groups and "Community of the future" chaired by Alain Juppé did not participate in the vote.
