Is Jean-Marc Jancovici a c ...?

Oil, gas, coal, nuclear (PWR, EPR, hot fusion, ITER), gas and coal thermal power plants, cogeneration, tri-generation. Peakoil, depletion, economics, technologies and geopolitical strategies. Prices, pollution, economic and social costs ...

he even goes beyond that, I think: he says that nuclear only interests him when it allows coal to be replaced. No coming to add to it. It is a position that is broadly defensible (even if suddenly, it potentially concerns a huge share of global electricity production)

doomed defensible, I would say debatable.

he also says (last 15 minutes of the video) that the trash is "a non-subject" "you just have to put it in a hole" ... hmmmm .... this is where the dark side of the character appears ...

for my part, i think that we should build a global supergrid mainly powered by renewables. This is a much higher vision than replacing coal GWs with nuclear GWs in China, and technically feasible.

but that is for electricity.

it will also be necessary to come to gasification of organic matter to synthesize liquid biofuels.

debatable or defensible, it is the same, we say: the position is not "aberrant". Already, if we agree on the observation, it is a big step forward. The solutions chosen then have advantages and disadvantages.

ah yeah but Janco is customary to shake the coconut palm for everyone (except the nuclearists).

Nobody is perfect. :P

Overall, I find his speeches very good, he just has that "nucleus and anti-renewal glitch" that happens from time to time.

Excellent answer from JM to Macron ... suddenly I changed the title of this (already long) subject because JM seems to me less and less embedded in a pro nuclear mentality and his speech has become much broader (he was already before but I understand myself ...)
