The operation was carried out yesterday, Sunday, October 23, 2011, under the supervision of the Areva and EDF teams involved in the construction of the nuclear site. The dome, which surmounts the reactor of unit 1 of the Taishan EPR in southern China, was positioned in half a day. It must now be welded around the entire perimeter of the building before being covered with 7 tonnes of concrete for a perfect seal.
