Remundo wrote:Yes Obamot, I often think of this type of project ...
I also said to myself that to redress the finances of Greece while having a European vision, without siphoning off German finances, it would be good for France and Germany to unite to develop solar energy there. .
I think that a "Eurotrec" would already be not bad at all, both economically and geopolitically ... well, my opinion hardly matters.
Completely Remundo!
A European solar project would be a real economic and political solution!
The potential is enormous!
It is high time to start a smooth exit from nuclear power, because even starting now, it would take almost a century to dismantle everything ... and a hundred billion!
Couple the recent power stations with vortex towers and immediately close the garbage cans (..Fessenheim) whose condition does not cease to prolong operation (EDF to ask 15 years + !!!!, ASN to give its agreement for 10 years, but it's the state that decides) ...

- energy storage

Storage, yes. Geographical decentralization ..... With one caveat, the current which comes from a sunny area to reach an area in the middle of the night will make a few thousand km in High Voltage cables with the losses by Joule effect which go with it. .... with ultimately a lower shabby yield ....?

Reason is the madness of the strongest. The reason for the less strong it is madness.

Compressed air with good heat exchange management becomes a very interesting solution, because the storage efficiency is 100%, low cost, decentralized, and ... usable directly in a vehicle ;-)
By the way, I'm looking for the energy efficiency of an air liquefaction installation: someone have any leads? nothing obvious yet ...

Oh no, online losses are between 5 and 10% on a conventional network (HT / MT / BT)
And with HVDC (high voltage direct current) lines, it's 3% / 1000km. Sending 1MW from Marseille to Brest would lose less than 2% in HVDC. Siemens and ABB are very advanced on the subject HVDC: high voltage direct current)
Long-distance, efficient transport of electricity is no longer a problem mit der Hochspannungs Gleichstromübertragung
