Invitation: Next Wednesday (May 27) at 18 p.m., the Shift presents its proposals for the aviation sector


Dear friends of the Shift,
Many planes are nailed to the ground, while in normal times, the contribution of the air sector to climate change is significant (6% worldwide). Public aid allocated “whatever the cost” to the air sector must be accompanied by strong measures on the part of States to bring the players in the air sector in line with the Paris Agreement.

We are pleased to invite you next Wednesday, May 27 at 18:30 p.m. to a video conference on Facebook and Zoom, to present our new publication on the aviation sector: our analyzes and proposals aim to establish the framework in which a radical transformation of the sector aerial could take place. The registration form is open.

For journalists, we organize a presentation the day before, Tuesday, May 26, at 9:30 am (registrations at ilana.toledano@theshiftproject.org).

This work supports the Transformation Plan for the French Economy launched by the Shift in the context of the Covid-19 crisis. The Notre Choix campaign, which mobilizes citizens and decision-makers to meet the environmental challenges of aviation, travel differently and get the state moving, is associated with the webinar. I'm not sure what the Shift project has in mind ... to limit the use of a service, I only see the money (it costs too much for some), or the regulations limiting the access to a caste (like the carrying of the sword in the Middle Ages): what are they offering?

It would be good to remove the interior lines and multiply the rail. You go almost as fast from downtown Paris to downtown Marseille by TGV as going from Paris to Orly then from Marignane to Marseille center.
