Uh so frankly I could test ... we have a forest behind us! By cons I have no aluminum nail ...
See what I can do ...
See what I can do ...

Steel,
aluminum will react
aluminum will react

Well, he is not supposed to react (Alu - Cu is not a coincidence if?).
Well I have both on hand.
I will test asap if it works!

I do not see the point of eating an aluminum anode
if you really want to test with aluminum, you take the body of a pop rivet?

The stems of the rivets that I have are made of steel (fortunately) but don't worry I have aluminum scraps that can be cut into a "point".
No problem on that side!
Go see what I can find in the garage as soon as I can!

Went for a walk in the woods with some gear:
For the soil:
- steel threaded rod glava = Fe (but in fact it is probably Zinc, Zn, which reacts)
- copper tube = Cu
- aluminum profile = Al1
For the tree:
- stainless steel screw = Ix
- alu "nail" (homemade) = Al2
Guinea pigs (coniferous):
- 1 dead tree
- 1 living tree
Results:
The "parasitic background" voltage oscillates between 50 and 140 mV.
Ground / ground measurement (+ = terminal +, - = terminal -)
Cu + / Al1 - = 0.577V
Cu+/Fe- = 0.959V
Al1 + / Fe - = 0.380V
(by reversing the polarity, it's symmetrical to within a few mV)
Soil / dead tree measurement:
Cu + / Al2 - = 0.567V
Cu + / Ix - = -0.030V
Al1 + / Al2 - = 0.020V
Al1 + / Ix - = - 0.540V
Fe + / Al2 - = - 0.347V
Fe + / Ix - = -0.904 V
Living soil / tree measurement:
Cu + / Al2 - = 0.784V
Cu + / Ix - = -0.004V (= 0)
Al1 + / Al2 - = 0.180V
Al1 + / Ix - = - 0.606V
Fe + / Al2 - = - 0.193V
Fe + / Ix - = -0.977 V
Tree / tree measurement = Al2 + / Ix -
Dead tree = - 0.579 V
Living tree = - 0.860 V
What to conclude from it?
I do not know.
Not much I think, we must have a lot of pile effect (Cu / Fe = Cu / Zn for example since the steel is galvanized) ... Some difference with the living / dead tree but probably due to the different distances and humidity ...
I would have to immerse myself in the gamma rule: http://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Potentiel_ ... %A9duction

Without wanting to offend you, I think you tire yourself a lot to prove not much.
And in addition you hurt trees !!!

Toudou ... idefix!
It took me less than 1 hour, I promised to do it higher and there may still be some interesting things to take from it.
Well, the one who died didn't suffer much ... the other one you have to ask him at worst it's acupuncture
And then it made me revise the redox

nice all the same this walk in the forest
thank you for these results
wouldn't you have made a measurement in mA?

Without charge it would not have given much ... so not for the moment ...
On the other hand I noticed that that varied in time (1mV / s approximately) ... especially the value "tree-tree" ... surely the "battery which discharges".
I also made "short circuits" and just after the value is higher than those given for 1/4 of a second but it is surely the multimeter that adapts ...
