1) PEARL, I psse from time to time next to it ... I let myself be tempted. Mistake.

2) I have boned. It is a piece of the ballast which "burns" ...

3) Obviously, I didn't keep the invoices. I had no idea of this outcome.

Agree with Christophe whom I understand !!
I suspect that Chinese LEDs, scrapped during manufacturing in tests, are recycled at a very low cost and therefore quickly slam on 19/20 LEDs !!!

But something with a specified lifespan of 8 to 10 years, expensive for this reason, but guaranteed that one or two years, will have difficulty selling for a high price !!!

The difficulty is that you have to be sure that the user has not put the LEDs in thick insulation, causing them to heat up.
They don't give enough info and advice.

Manufacturers should put a security protecting the LED from what is killing them
1) too hot, LED off and signal
2) small surges, with good varistors.
In my opinion essential!

Otherwise, they will hardly sell, the unhappy customer does not try to pay dearly again !!

The legal guarantee in France is 1 year, did you play it?

Isn't the legal guarantee in all of Europe 24 months?

But apparently, we have an interest in managing: personally:

1) I keep the boxes "for a while" with a photocopy of the receipt inside (the current receipts are erased too quickly)
2) I have a binder for the rest (always with photocopies)

and oddly enough, I never need to bring in the warranty: Murphy's Law, no doubt.

Only the paranoid will survive!

For the rest, I am starting to replace alarm centers that are more than 20 years old, powered up 24 hours a day, including and above all the led's indicator light.

Me too, for "serious" things: household appliances, taps and other DIY things "guaranteed for 10 years", telephony, etc ...

That's already a lot! So 10 LEDs bought off ... No.

Yes that's what I do too!

Except that a receipt, even in a safe filing cabinet, will fade after a few years (less than 5 years).

So if you have receipts to keep: make photocopies!
