Range of eco compact fluorescent bulbs Megaman

by Christophe » 21/01/07, 15:42

Soon on the store (normally February 1) will be available several models of compact fluorescent bulbs. We have chosen to work with Megaman for the diversity of their range, the originality of their product (GU10, E14 candle, variable power bulb ...) and the performance of their bulbs (15h, 000 cycles, silicone coating, plastic base, 600 year warranty and of course RoHS certified).

We have only retained fairly specific bulbs that you will find difficult to find elsewhere, for example the compact fluorescent GU10.

You will find our range (5 bulbs to start) here:

Examples:

Flame bulb for 7W candlestick and 15h lifespan:

- GU10: https://www.econologie.com/shop/pack-3- ... p-576.html

I've been in the lighting business for years and it's the first time I've heard of a silicone coating.
What is the point ?

Good question, the interest (according to Megaman) of a flexible silicone is double or even triple:

- better light diffusion (less dazzling)
- make the bulb more homogeneous to the eye (the tubes are almost invisible)
- in the event of breakage of the glass part of the bulb, the silicone acts as a "bag", in other words: less dangerous both for the glass and for the "chemicals" of the bulb (because even if they are RoHS, these fluorescent bulbs still contain some toxic substances ... even if they contain bcp less than the "first prices")

In addition it allows, for example, to make more original shapes like the twisted arrow ...

ps: are we going to be competing now Elephant? : Cheesy:

INGENIUM technology guaranteeing: 15 hours of lifespan, 000 ignition cycles and a reduced "heating" period.

Well if you have more than one you are forgiven : Mrgreen: (but hey if you still had a dozen it wouldn't have displeased us either : roll: )
