Recent news :
Lexar almost disappeared in 2017 and was bought by the Chinese. The new models came out in 2018 ... https://www.touslesdrivers.com/index.ph ... _code=7256
The SSD dash tool, very soft, gives the same results as CrystalDiskInfo

On the forum Hardware.fr I was advised HWInfo that I downloaded, it gives me this:
HWinfo89h.gif
HWinfo89h.gif (18.26 KiB) Viewed 1923 times

191Gb for 90h, it's already much better >> 2 Gb / h,
With a use of 7 hrs / day, 7x2x365 = 5 TB / year, so 50 years to reach the TBW of 256 TB.

191 corresponds to 6112/32, quite the F1 of SMART http://server.idemdito.org/electro/comp ... -intel.htm, the loop is complete and no need to even add RAM : Wink:

A very useful light software to obtain information is GsmartContrôle https://telecharger.malekal.com/download/gsmartcontrol/
Other software https://www.malekal.com/verifier-etat-s ... -ssd-smart

The interest is that the result column is in decimal format:

I have just finalized the installation of my SSD: computer-electronic-electricity / clone-a-hard-drive-system-to-ssd-mx500-crucial-test-review-t16878.html

CrystalDiskInfo gives 726 GB at installation (logical I cloned a 1 TB disk ... I even expected more since I cloned all the sectors in hard copy ... you have to believe that this does not count writes of 0?)

HD Sentinel only gives 32GB of BW, logical it only counts on Windows (and I don't think it counts starts and stops):

CrystalDiskMark gives, standard test and SSD version test (it is at the stop of the SATA 3 of 600 Mb / s)

Here you are, who worried you that CrystalDiskMark was wearing out the hard drives: the 2 Benmarks consumed approximately 73 GB!

CrystalDiskInfo shows me 804 GB or 78 GB ... logical because the SSD version test freezes the system for a few tens of seconds so HDS does not count at this time.

In short, a CrystalDiskInfo test consumes around 40 GBW ... I don't think that this is very detrimental for the lifespan ... Where did you read that? On the other hand, the freeze of the system is not terrible for sure!

Uh ... why does GsmartControl divide the BWs by 32? : Shock:

This contradicts your info in GB given by CrystalInfo of 5 TBW a few days ago:

Christophe wrote:b) I have the same concerns as you:

- I have another laptop equipped with an M2 System SSD bought in August 2020
- CrystalInfo which says that I have already made 10 TB of LUES data !! Based on SMART data
- Or HDS that I installed the day of delivery or the next day at worst, tells me that I have consumed 2.3 TB (which is already a lot because this PC does not run every day, I think the M2 / SSDs are heavily used in caching by windows)

So either they sold me a disk already used (like you ???) or the installation of windows 7 TB food (which would surprise me) or there is a measurement error somewhere (??) or .. .bin I don't know! Guy what do you think?

The catches are coming!

Here are the 2 captures ...

There is clearly a 2nd C ... in the soup there!

The installation of windows and the 150 boots could not consume 7 TB of read data ... or ??? That's 46 GB of data read at each boot ?? Seems a bit much to me!

And Guy he found this:
https://malwaretips.com/threads/how-man ... day.94735/
Looks like Microsoft Photos is the problem with the guy. Personally, I uninstalled it.
Afterwards, I also deactivated all the apps that are running in the background.

MS photos is a lead but it does not explain the "excess" 7 TB of my PC in August 2020! Because I have almost no photos on it (except those from the software) and I only use it to play!

I just checked the purchase date "Order of August 06, 2020" ... certainly delivered on the 8th or 9th ... HD Sentinel installed on the 10th ...

So there are 7 TB coming out of the hat as I expected! : Cheesy:

Apart from the recycling / reconditioning of equipment I see no other explanation: I will perhaps ask Cdiscount what they think about it ...

It's an Alienware M15 bought on sale.

I am quite disappointed: it heats up a lot, ventilates thoroughly even under Windows and does not perform that well ... compared to my previous MSI gamer PC from 2016 ... and a horrible software overlay!

Apparently this series has a cooling problem with a badly mounted or designed heatpipe ... I trust without inquiring in depth before! In short DELL or Alienware, never again! Here is already a subject for the new section of forums ! : Cheesy:

Mine, I have it made to measure at a German assembler (Ankermann) with 3 years warranty.

A custom laptop? : Shock: : Shock: : Shock:

I bought more desktop since 2008 ... too energy consuming considering the time I spend per day and night! : Mrgreen:
