Put remote probe on thermostat ....

by 2bou » 18/10/18, 18:23

Hi,
I had, here is kek time, seen a tutorial for that, but, there,
the "original" probe is different from the one shown
in the tutorial. (much smaller).
Is it the "little ball" "named TH1 on the printed circuit?
Goods.

Yes, you can desolder and deport as you want, check all the same values before finalizing the assembly (see if it is a response in voltage or ohms ...).

Too much cable length may pose a problem of precision (not sure to check)

Hello,
At first glance it is a programmable heating thermostat.
Normally it is a thermistor.

If the value at 20 ° is low enough, up to 20 kohms, it can be deported without worries. over several meters it will be preferable to use a shielded cable by connecting the braid on the frame or the - side of the card.

Ouch, bobo's head ...... you want to ruin my day? : Shock:
I'm not "at the level" for all that ......
But, I think that for a remote probe 0,70m max of cable phone, it should not play too much.
And even if; "I would adapt" via setting the thermostat to have the right temperature (nursery).
Thank you for your advice. Have a nice day.

*Uhh, no risk of "wire inversion"?? : Idea:
Ciii.

Phone cable is very thin: do it with a speaker cable (0,75 mm2)
After 0.7 m it's not much!

What we want to tell you is that the added cable must not change the values. As it is a thermistor it is easy to measure ohmeter or not simple visual reading on the thermostat in the same room temperature.

In other words: if the thermostat takes + 5 ° C with the addition of the cable, it's not good ...

At this distance, the electrical resistance is probably not going to play. By cons, its mechanical resistance to manipulation?

If no shielding, keep it away from sources of noise like switching power supply of compact fluorescent lamps or led or charger phone ...

Either on the ceiling (but blah thermally) or in a small cache or box ...

Audio cables can be shielded precisely.

That's what I would use in his case.

Ceiling ... a vivarium is different, the risks of proximity are there.
Actually the micro cable is all indicated with the shield connected only on one side to avoid the ground loop. : Wink:

No, since it's a thermistor...

Put us a picture of the final result :)
