Do you know what I have to do? to add a memory module?
My DD is far from full.

lol, what version do you have Bham? I phoned Methuselah (Arabic phone) : Mrgreen: it tells me to go to the "Memory" dashboard and turn off "Virtual Memory".

Sorry, I did not have the courage to read everything so I may be talking about a software you have already mentioned, but in the category "depolluting software", there are also those which save money. energy.
I use one (free) called Edison, it is done by a publisher named Verdiem who makes his butter trying to place this kind of program on the computer parks of large companies.
It avoids running for nothing his PC and, in any case for me, it does not cause a problem.
After, I ask myself the question of its efficiency compared to the classic standby PCs but good at least I feel like doing something :)

Thanks Obelix, I have 768 megabytes too, don't understand, I checked "system managed memory", we'll see.

In Obamot: I have XP. Why disable virtual memory?

Ben disable virtual memory you may not be able to start ...

In general we say that the virtual memory must be 2 times the size of the physical memory, minimum ...

Now, I already saw this problem while the virtual memory was well configured. At this point, it's more complicated, and it requires more diagnosis ...

it's faster to reinstall the XP ...
