Instructive curves on the lifespan (number of cycles of a battery according to the depth of discharge)

Quiz: what are the technological differences between car and solar battery?

Hello,
As far as I know, stationary batteries are often alkaline, well this is what I saw on a site where I was doing maintenance qq years ago.
It is not specified in the link?

This is not because we always said that it is impossible that we should not try :)

Well no otherwise I would ask po! : Cheesy: They are just talking about gelled electrolyte or not.

Should look at the source of the source in more detail. : Cheesy:

Hello,
Gelled, it must be lead batteries.

Well yes like on the motorbikes ...

That's why I don't understand the difference in lifespan with car batteries ...

Nice Ah but the price is also inflated:

Minimum of 6 * 2V 400Ah gelled solar battery (C100) - 5 OPzV 400 Ah € 390.00 = € 2340 for 12V ...

It joins my subject on the Cost of PV to compare to the cost of fossil fuels ... even with fuel at 2 € per liter ...

Let us compare the figures of your "store" with those of the University of Toulouse:

- storage on batteries: 3 6 € / Wc according to stored energy
(about 0,15 € / Wh so 3 € / W is equivalent to 20 hours at Pmax)

A) 0.15 € / Wh

Gelled solar battery 2V 400Ah (C100) - 5 OPzV 400 Ah

B) 400Ah * 2V = 800Wh for 390 € or 0,49 € / Wh

This is 3,25 times what is announced by the university ...

By taking the biggest battery on the same site:

C) 1400Ah * 2V = 2800 for € 1,035.00 or € 0,36 / Wh

This is more than twice what is announced by the university ...

Explanations?

Hello,
It's not "my" store, it's just "found on the net".
Explanation? Well easy, they make a lot of wheat.

: Arrow:
Basically, energy storage batteries and starter batteries (automotive batteries) have the following differences:

Starter batteries: very high instantaneous power, reduced weight, does not support deep discharges.

Storage batteries Very high weight, moderate instantaneous power, designed for deep discharges (80% DOD)

Traction batteries very heavy, serve as a counterweight on handling equipment, their characteristics "resemble" those of storage batteries.

Motorcycle (and automobile) batteries are, for the most part, liquid electrolyte batteries, which leak sulfuric acid solution if spilled. : Cry:

In lead-gel batteries, the electrolyte is in gelled form, requiring no particular maintenance (no level to check) so they can be reversed without danger. :D
This type of battery is found in inverters, alarm systems, electric scooters and other toys for children as well as in low-end electric assistance bikes.
