How to have juice for sconces, without wires?

by phil59 » 22/01/23, 23:49

One of my children, who bought a house 2 months ago, where everything is already well done, bought 2 wall lights, to put next to a mirror.

Only, there is no juice nearby, and no desire to make "holes" to pass electrical wires.

So, as the base is almost square, I think we could fit 6 18650 batteries, bms, and get 12V out, but in E14, on the support, and it would be a shame to put it in E27.

I found bulbs, not pretty in E27, 12V, but not at all in E14.

The idea is to keep a shape like light bulbs, a little "twisted, tapering on the top", but I can't find it.
The goal is not to see extraordinary lighting, but to have it lit.

With 6 18650 batteries, I will do a test with my old 18650s, before taking new ones, but with that, I don't think we can count on a maximum of 50Wh, maybe 8-10H with 3-5W .

Do you have sites on which we can find E14, between 12-24V, with nice shape?

Otherwise, I will keep the 220V; 25W, with a mini 12-220V converter, to see if the base will be thick enough to hide that, but there, with the losses, it would be at the max, I think, a good hour on, so uncool ...

Or keep the old 220V, open it, and put a led inside, 2W-3W? in 12V...

You still want to enrich the Chinese market.
A wiring under molding well done is clean.

No, everything has been redone, including old-fashioned moldings, it's not to do "mischief" again.

It's also a big old-fashioned house, 200-300m from my house, which was built, I think around 1900-1950 at the max of the max.
And we won't pass the wires from the outside either, even if it's possible.

And why not induction? : Cheesy:

If the wall is not too thick it is possible!

Brick wall of 35-45 cm, more dubbing, more placo, for induction, in any case, should not feed the outside wall ....

2 children in the village, 700m and 200-300m away, it's hell! : Lol:

My wife was sulking because they didn't come by often enough now, because they come by too much!!!! : Lol: : Lol: : Lol: : Lol: : Lol:

And when they are 2 days without passing, well, "she brays" (cries in the local patois).

I have all the gear to do a test,

And I have 18650, not at the top, but to do a test, it will be fine, I will do a test at 220V, with a 220V 3W led ....

It's a shame to go through 220v. See anyway the performance of DC / AC converters.
There is E14 in 12v, not twisted but a small sacrifice on the aesthetics to simplify the technique is perhaps valid:

Thank you, not the wanted top, but a realistic possibility, to stay within 12V.

It's encouraging to continue research, because there, I was drying up, I had found nothing on ALI ....

I don't know if they want to keep that tp there, the good old "yellow", or want more cool white.

So a real possibility to do something.
