Court delays: weird

Weird, weird: when I read them forums, many of you allude to appalling legal delays: 18 months, 5 years, 10 years.
However, French justice does not seem so slow as this:

I would not go so far as to say that I approve of Ryanair's approach, but I still find this delay odd: Ryanair would have a straight pass, unless .....

In this case it was, if I am not mistaken, a summons, so it is logical that the deadline should be short.

On the other hand, the deadlines for normal procedures are very long, although I have no example of the President of the Republic who has brought a civil action (this is perhaps a first for that matter).

I suspected as much, but to obtain damages in summary proceedings, there, I am blown away. The essence of summary proceedings is to prevent harmful things from happening (for example obtaining the continuation of a business, stopping offensive advertising, etc.)
Generally claims for damages are referred to the trial judge!

There, I agree.

A simple injunction to withdraw from the advertisement and a dismissal for damages would have been more common!

It was the first time that a head of state in office launched such a prosecution since Georges Pompidou, who had obtained in 1970 the seizure of the magazine L'Express because of an advertisement for boat engines using his image .
