Borloo: mobile phones eco-recorded?

by Christophe » 15/06/09, 15:38

One more debate idea that if it looks good on form is bullshit in the bottom!

Borloo is considering a deposit for mobile phones

The Ministry of Sustainable Development has presented the operators a project that would be to collect between 2 and 5 euros for the purchase of mobile phones and that will be returned when users bring them back.

The green wave is about to hit the mobile industry. Last year, the Ministry of Ecology, Energy, Sustainable Development and Spatial Planning (Meeddat) had considered extending the bonus-malus system to other product families than cars, including mobile phone batteries. But this line of work has proved, in the study, complicated to implement.

What followed

Pkoi I say that's bullshit on the bottom? Because this puts the mobile phone at the level of an object "quickly consumable" not to say "disposable" ... and that is not good at all for the environment!

Instead of putting a deposit to 3 or 5 € (giving more the impression of a discount on the next laptop and thus promoting renewal) it would be more interesting to drastically increase the ecotax because when we see that it is at 0.01 € for some materials at 1000 € ... Frankly !!

Good I was bad language:

Increase of the ecoparticipation

Five euros for a used mobile is not enough but it could be enough, according to the Ministry of Ecology, Energy, Sustainable Development and Spatial Planning (Meeddat), to awaken the green fiber of consumers. As for the financing of this new measure, it could be ensured by an increase of two to five euros of the ecoparticipation, taken during the purchase of a new telephone.

In fact it is not really a deposit but a support to recovery ... pfff ... if we used the right words it would be better too ...
