This molecular plasma lamp, which contains no electrode, has a yield between two and seven times greater than a standard halogen lamp depending on the quality of the light. "Another advantage: it has a life of ten years twelve hours of ignition a day. It contains no mercury, lead, or other toxic substances.

Apparently, you take a microwave oven and turn it into a lamp with the mixture under low pressure!
Creativity is the composition of the plasma gases of the microwave oven !!!
The shielding is essential, otherwise, lethal, in general it does not let a lot of light !!!
There is still better performance, the fluorescent X-ray lamp instead of UV!
The max in performance for a century if we do not die X-rays!

Well, it's not that new: I think Philips has been doing it since 15 - 20 years ago. This is reserved for applications where the replacement of the lamp is very expensive.
