computer consumption is another debate mine (portable) making 22,03 W / h

Hello again

possibility to deactivate peripherals not used in the computer, such as internal modem for example, sound card, network card ..... anything that is useless

deactivation in the bios because otherwise it is useless to deactivate it only in windows

jeff

ps: if there is a 56k modem in the computer, it is better to remove it, it is more radical than disabling it

if there is a possibility of reducing the speed of operation of the processor, one can still gain a few milliamps on the conco

after 2 days and 19 h of operation of the answering machine the result is:
consumption: 0,13 W / h
let's admit (abusive) operation 24 hours a day over 365 days that makes me: 1138,8 Wh / year = 1,139 KWh / year

I add them to my previous calculation:
1,139 (answering machine) + 7,3 (modem) = 8,44 KWh / year

in comparison to the new modem put on the market and which make internet + such there is no photo.

my consumption with my modem makes me a consumption of 50,57KWh / year

with the recommended change without change of "comfort" the difference is:
50,57 - 8,44 = 42,13 KWh / year
which is huge, not to mention the fact that the answering machine will not be systematically switched on.

Only problem in history (with financial reasoning) the price of the phone on one side (€ 12,90 / month + subscription) and the internet on the other is much more expensive (even with the difference in consumption) that all inclusive (tel + internet):
conclusion: we are not trying to make us lower the electricity bill ... but that we already knew ... :?
