Tips for Bulb 60 leds SMD 3W GU10 - Extra wide angle - 280 Lm
Hello
I am redoing a small house and I hesitate about the type of spot to put in my false ceilings. (Space available 100 mm max!)
I am tempted by the SMD bulb.
What is the installation depth?
My living room is 2,8m by 6m, how many spots should I put in your opinion? (3 row of 6?) (No other lighting)
how far between the spots? Originally there were 2 chandeliers and I intend to keep the principle of 2 lighting zones. (2 times 9?)
Thank you in advance
cordially
Olivier
Our answer:
Hello,
The installation depth is identical to a GU10 halogen bulb with a diameter of 50mm (standard). With 100mm you will have plenty of room.
Regarding the number of bulbs: it is recommended between 200 and 250 lux in a salon. Take 200 lux or 200 lumens / m².
Your living room is 16.8 m² or 17m² so you would need a total power of 200 * 17 = 3400 lumens.
Our SMD bulbs are 280 lumens / bulb, so you would need 3400/280 = 12 bulbs.
For distribution, it depends on your specific needs. You can do the same calculation for 250 lux we would get 15 bulbs so 3 rows of 5. For example at the dining table (if there is one) it would take more than in front of the TV.
Lighting power is a fairly subjective concept, so we generally recommend putting one or 2 compact fluorescent bulbs of high power (at least 20W) on a standing fixture, here are some models:

It is preferable to start on GU10 base because it does not require a transformer: https://www.econologie.com/shop/pack-3-s ... p-576.html
We also have GU10 sockets if necessary:
