It is used as a base in many natural varnishes often in combination with resin bottles and oils etc. according to the claimed application. The famous tampon verniz is executed with shellac. Normal application: violin making and cabinet making etc.

it's the same principle
but I see that it is only soluble in a pile of extremely toxic product
it would take a biologist to specialize in trees to help us
and why not use the resin of the wood to be treated?
as it fits into its own composition there will be no rejection
and it will last longer
