Hello, we will acquire land or we want to build a timber frame house. a medium voltage line goes into the property line. I wanted to know if there were insulating materials capable of attenuating the magnetic and electrical fields.

Thank you in advance

do a faraday cage but you'll have to go outside to use your mobile phone : Mrgreen:

How and with what do I make a Faraday cage?

1) There are "eco magnetic" paints but they are sold overpriced !!! 100 € for 5 liters !!

Achievement simple and cheap: alu paper or blanket on the outside or inside of the thermal insulation (some vapor barrier are aluminum) but must be put everywhere (well wherever possible) and nothing will pass as l says Matt!

I don't know of any "insulating" material that blocks EM fields, quite the contrary since they are generally metals and therefore thermal bridges!

2) Look at this: https://www.econologie.com/electricite-l ... -3885.html

There it was just under the lines are you sure there is really a problem in your case.

Is there not a legal lack in this respect?

Hello,
Do not forget the grounding of the cage, it is much more effective than without.

This is not because we always said that it is impossible that we should not try :)

cork is an excellent magnetic insulator for all researchers on the development of the magnetic motor.

Hello,
No, not at all, cork is a thermal and electrical insulator.
For a Faraday cage, use an electrically conductive material.

I join the opinion of Christopher.
May be by the application of a multilayer reflector insulator on the walls of the side of the line. This complete and more insulation.

for Bibiphoque,

Yet when I put a magnet neodymium dasn of cork AC cuts all magnetic attraction.
There may be clarifications to bring bibphoque?
