Oki, very good. It's the best compromise.

Will you show us pictures?

Hello
natural gray it looks good but you have to "treat" every how much?
we can take advantage of it to change color every time ...
I too am waiting for the photos
... and the bill if possible
I need to compare prices

when you leave it natural, you have nothing to spend on it unless you want to block the gray at a certain moment.

My house is covered in Red Cedar (in fact, botanically, it is a Thuja). Not very economical ... Come from Canada !!!

What I wanted to say :

1) Same choice: to leave a grease ... I do not regret? The house in the meanwhile quoted Ouets, took the shape of an old barn. Must like anyway ... Me yes, I have sometimes curious comments (say, lovers of well-varnished Swiss chalets - I especially did not want a chore of lazurage all 3 or 4 years).

2) A word of advice: the Douglas / Spruce debate has shown that what is important is that the wood is dry. Old barns made of common fir can last half a century or more. Except "parterre". So provide air circulation behind. And of course, don't go all the way to the ground ...

FYI, the Douglas (genus Pseudotsuga) is not a thuja (genus Thuja), it is closer to the pines.

But the designation "Red Cedar" covers both Douglas-fir and Western red cedar, both used for similar uses.
