For teetotalers I realize it comes to drink water out of the osmosis, as I've always heard that it was not precisely becaufe was demineralized !!! : Shock:

I remember that an uncle who had a "water softener" (it is an osmosis?) Took the drinking water before his device.

The purpose of the unit is to preserve limestone, pipes and appliances.

water softener "(that is a reverse osmosis ???)

Bin ein not, the purpose of the softener is to avoid the limestone formations in the house plumbing and the electrical appliances.
The softener changes the PH is all

Oh and to do this it uses the salt?

:D Wiki explains better than me.
Well, he also talks about reverse osmosis at 5% loss..not much : Shock:

Sorry, but there I see a huge mistake, low losses are valid for the softener system, NOT FOR the osmosis, I quote. "Water losses because the concentrated that contains all the salts which do not cross the membrane or membranes, representing approximately 25% of the inflow to industrial facilities. This water then contains too much salt for agriculture, and is therefore lost "source = Wikipedia http://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Osmose_inverse

In a water softener as explained on Wikipedia, the water coming from the network passes through a resin filter and towards your valves, part of water charged with NaCl salt (+/- 5%) periodically passes through the filter in another axis? and in doing so cleans the cartridge deposits of limestone and other impurities, the method is incorporated into all dishwashers! (I still wonder why not in the lava linen? Too expensive?)
Before washing, it is clearly understood that small amounts of water are injected into the dishwasher and a pump turns a moment BEFORE you start filling the machine in water!

A topic is for years I used the bulk salt, sold in super (hyper) market (20kg bag) food quality (Nezo brand) is selling up cheaper 10X that "special salt tablets for dishwashers "which are a scam to gogo :x

Any takers

Greetings

Thank you for econological tip of the day.

About the washing machine, since I use washing balls, the interior of the drum remains nickel, but the outside becomes matte sign that the limestone is deposited. I then mounted on the tap of the washing machine an in-line filter containing polyphosphate.

Bonjour,

houloulou .... it goes in all directions there .... difficult to navigate ....

good to recap a bit ...:

- a good reverse osmosis unit must have a "yield" of 1 for 4 or 1 for 3 ... (if a salesman tells you that his device has a performance of 1 for 1, maybe, but then his device is "strangled" and will not work optimally ..)
- Water flushing the osmosis is not necessarily "lost" or discarded sewer !! , Loses wants, but a little reflection, nothing prevents to recover for another use ....
- A RO water is not a water ofmineralized, nor distilled ... !!
- A reverse osmosis water is not dangerous to health as water consumption ...
- if you want to "remineralize" (for fear) an osmosis water, a grain of coarse Himalayan salt or unrefined salt in a jug of water is enough .....
- the neutral pH is 7.2, the ideal in conso water being from 6.5 to 7.5 ...
.......

> Concerning the "case" of Fabio:
it would also be good to confirm if the water that was osmosis at your place is city water or not ....
because with a pH of 5.75 output osmosis, either the device kidding, or the water before reverse osmosis is already low pH, but at this point, would be more consistent ("drinking") if city water!

Also, what was the water conductivity output device .. ??
(very important to know .., but not even informed either! ..)

I hope that the reverse osmosis water was softened beforehand .... !!!!

> I do not know of any "Cartridge remineralization with the outlet of the membrane" on any osmosis ... (???)

> The composition of an aquarium unit is "not complete" or suitable for domestic use ...

> Citro,
be careful when you are careful about maintaining a filter (whatever it is ..)
if we do not respect the cartridge change in due time ... we actually worse than better ....

What problems "do you know" about the CA .. ??

> Careful indeed not to be confused softener and reverse osmosis ...: nothing to do ..
do not drink water softened by softening ...

softener does not change the "pH" .. but the "Th °" .... (hardness)

> Polyphosphates balls are one of the processes "anti-scale" effective but "prevents the deposition" of limestone, but does not eliminate it ...
(only the softener "eliminates" it ..)

...............................................................................

for those who want to know more about reverse osmosis & Cie ... you can always dig a little my website and my blog, and also see the side of the reference books filled in under "Library" written and controlled by specialists in the subject ....
except for those who are reluctant to go out of € 30 wallet and a minimum reading ....

cordially

Hello,
I know that to be loaded electrical softener (nuclear?) home for years with big bags of salt rather heavy ... my parents have traded against a magnetic tube, but a real not a gimmick, it should listen to 1000 F, the problem of limestone is partially solved. there are also magnetic balls for dishwashers (the square holes are best), we can check the status of the electrical resistance to learn, or limestone on glasses lemon or vinegar dissolves.
